    Kurzfassung: Im Mittelpunkt des Sammelbandes steht die Auseinandersetzung mit dem Gewaltmotiv und seiner (multimodalen) Darstellung im (Deutsch-)Rap. Die Facetten der Gewaltdarstellung im (Deutsch-)Rap und deren ggf. vorhandene Brüche und Ambivalenzen werden einerseits auf der Ebene der Produktion fokussiert. Andererseits erfolgt ein Blick auf die Rezeptionsprozesse, Produktionsmechanismen und -instanzen, die auf eine möglichst breite Rezeption abzielen.     Kurzfassung: "Adam Smith, one of the founding fathers of contemporary economics, observed that religiosity is influenced by the extent of regulation in the "market" for religion. In countries where there is a state-sponsored religion, one can expect less overall religiosity than if the market were competitive and religions had to compete to increase their membership. Religion, he claims, is like other goods and services supplied in a market economy. Max Weber, one of the founding fathers of contemporary sociology, similarly proposed that religiosity and economic principles are strongly interconnected phenomena. Weber famously thought that Protestant religious beliefs about the importance of work, savings and trustworthiness played an important role in sparking the Industrial Revolution and accelerating economic growth in the Western World. This edited volume contains original contributions by eminent scholars in the new and emerging field of the economics of religion. The contributions expand upon the ground-breaking ideas of Adam Smith and Max Weber. The chapters also illuminate new directions for research in this relatively young, intellectually exciting, and rapidly growing multidisciplinary field of scientific inquiry."

Their chapters explore an acoustemology of intimacy, woman-centered eroticism generated through musical performance, desire and longing in ethnographic knowledge production, and listening as intimacy. On the other end of the spectrum, authors engage with and question the fetishization of race in jazz; examine conceptions of vulgarity and profanity in movement and dance-ethnography; and address pain, trauma, and violation, whether physical, spiritual, intellectual, or political. Authors in this volume strive toward empathetic, ethical, and creative ethnographic engagements that summon vulnerability and healing. They propose pathways to aesthetic, discursive transformation by reorienting conceptions of knowledge as emergent, performative, and sonically enabled. Musik selbst ist beweglich: als Kunstform, als Ware, auf Datenspeichern, als Wissen und Können migrierender Musiker_innen und als Erinnerungsanker von Menschen mit Migrationserfahrungen. Das in den kultur- und kunstwissenschaftlichen Disziplinen schon seit Langem existierende Interesse für das Wechselverhältnis zwischen den Kunst- und Migrationsphänomenen wurde durch aktuelle Fluchtbewegungen neu angefacht und inspiriert.     Kurzfassung: "The chapters that make up this book recognize through examples from research, practice and evaluation of quality with lived experiences that diverse contemporary popular musics can provide useful tools not just for entertainment and fun, but for learning, growth and healing/wellness. Hip hop, techno, grime, drill and suchlike are contemporary genres that have been stigmatized through association with the BAME community. At the same time, however, these musics are typically the listening diet of choice today in our inner cities. These contemporary musics of the inner-city and their associated music-related activities (e.g., deejaying, beat making, mixtape making but also dance, visual art and more) are celebrated and embraced as extraordinarily powerful tools for building and maintaining academic, social, and emotional competencies. These musics are loved and they can open up opportunities for creativities among those who often feel seriously marginalized. In turn, these musics (and activities associated with them) can provided opportunities to engage and/or support those at the social and educational margins. In other words, the musics at the heart of this book have faced exclusionary pressures but they can also work for inclusion when utilized in educational/pedagogical or therapeutic practices.     Kurzfassung: Zu viel Bevölkerung oder zu wenig? Wer soll Kinder bekommen und wer vom Gebären abgehalten werden? Kinderkriegen ist eingebunden in mächtige Regierungsstrategien, die auf Körper und Bevölkerungen abzielen. Das malthusianische Denken geht noch weiter, indem es fast alle Krisen unserer Zeit zu Bevölkerungsproblemen umdeutet. Der Status quo von sozialer Ungleichheit, Rassismus und globaler Zerstörung bleibt dabei allerdings unberührt. Susanne Schultz seziert das demografische Denken und versammelt Analysen deutscher Kinderwunsch-, Familien- und Migrationspolitik. Dabei hinterfragt sie auch eine »demografisierte« Klimadebatte und kritisiert repressive globale Verhütungsprogramme.

    Kurzfassung: "Once touted as the world's largest industry and also a tool for fostering peace and global understanding, tourism has certainly been a major force shaping our world. The recent COVID-19 crisis has led to calls to transform tourism and reset it along more ethical and sustainable lines. It was in this context that calls to "socialise tourism" emerged (Higgins-Desbiolles, 2020). This edited volume builds on this work by employing the term Socialising Tourism as a broad conceptual focal point and guiding term for industry, activists and academics to rethink tourism for social and ecological justice. Socialising Tourism means reorienting travel and tourism based on the rights, interests, and safeguarding of traditional ecological and cultural knowledges of local peoples, communities and living landscapes. This means making tourism work for the public good and taking seriously the idea of putting the social and ecological before profit and growth as the world re-emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic. This is an essential first step for tourism to be made accountable to limits of the planet. Concepts discussed include Indigenous culture, toxic tourism, a 'theory of care', dismantling whiteness, decolonial tourism, and animal oppression, among others, all in the context of a post COVID-19 world. This will be essential reading for all upper-level students, academics and policymakers in the field of tourism"--

    Kurzfassung: Ein hochrangiger Polizeibeamter bietet einer Angestellten eine Beförderung an und fragt sie dabei, ob sie sich ,,hochschlafen" wolle. Die Frau weist ihn zurück und behält den Vorfall jahrelang für sich. Zuvor hatte sie in der Polizei vergeblich um Unterstützung ersucht. Erst Jahre später taucht dieser Polizeibeamte in den Schlagzeilen auf, weil er seiner jungen Kripochefin nachgestellt haben soll. Erst daraufhin wird er aufgrund der Anzeige der Angestellten rechtskräftig verurteilt. Diesen konkreten Rechtsfall sexualisierter Grenzüberschreitung, nehmen die Herausgeber des Buches als Anlass interdisziplinär zu untersuchen, wie Mechanismen der Skandal- und Krisenbewältigung und die damit einhergehenden Formen der institutionellen Abwehr in der Organisation Polizei wirken. Das Wegsehen und rationalisierende Verdrängen seitens Vorgesetzter, Kolleginnen und Kollegen ist unbedingt aufklärungsbedürftig. Ziel des Buches ist die Schaffung einer interdisziplinären Grundlage für die Reflexion vergleichbarer Fälle in der ,,Organisation mit Gewaltlizenz" und damit die Initiierung eines organisationalen Lernprozesses, der solche Fälle zu verhindern hilft.

    Kurzfassung: What steps are needed to make life better and more convivial? The Second Convivialist Manifesto (2020) has presented a short diagnosis of the current crises and sketches of a possible and desirable future. It has been a necessary work of theoretical synthesis, but preserving a viable world also requires passion. It is thus urgent to show what people would gain from a shift to a post-neoliberal and post-growth convivialist future. This volume includes a theoretical debate on convivialism which reflects dystopias and shows the multiple and major obstacles that convivialism will have to face. Mainly, however, the contributors to this volume create sketches of a convivial future and collect accounts of another future world which is attractive for as many as possible.

Im »jazz-echo«, der achtseitigen Jazz-Beilage des GONDEL-Magazins, beschrieben und bewerteten sechs fachkundige Publizisten aus drei Generationen begeistert, skeptisch oder polemisch die rasanten künstlerischen Entwicklungen. Redakteur und Hauptautor des »jazz-echo« war in den 1960er Jahren Siegfried Schmidt-Joos. Auch seine Entwicklung vom ausschließlichen Jazz-Experten zum weiträumigen Pop-Journalisten und Rock-Chronisten spiegelt dieses Buch, das mit kritisch-kulinarischen Kostbarkeiten die Zeit des florierenden Diskurses in der Musik wie in der Musikberichterstattung in Erinnerung ruft.
