    Abstract: 4e de couv.: Camps de réfugiés évacués, détruits, désertés, devenus des quartiers de villes, transformés en sites archéologiques, en musées ou en parcours de mémoire... Que reste-t-il des camps de réfugiés une fois le temps de l'urgence passé et quelles sont les stratégies à l'oeuvre en vue de leur démantèlement'? L'ouvrage s'intéresse aux traces et aux mémoires qui s'élaborent à partir de la matérialité des lieux et des expériences transitoires ou durables de la vie en exil. Ces mémoires en construction/en chantier puisent dans le passé et le présent, dans l'histoire longtemps enfouie des camps de réfugiés et dans l'actualité vive des réfugiés en Europe. L'après-camp porte donc sur les conditions de la mise en oeuvre d'une mémoire des camps de réfugiés, mais aussi sur les mutations du modèle du camp de réfugiés forgé tout au long du XXe siècle.     Abstract: Göran Hugo Olsson blickt in "Concerning Violence" auf die afrikanischen Unabhängigkeitskämpfe zwischen 1966 und 1984. Die theoretische Grundlage liefert das berühmte Buch "Die verdammten der Erde" von Frantz Fanon, mit einem neuen, für die Dokumentation geschriebenen Vorwort der postkolonialistischen Theoretikerin Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak. Durch diese theoretische Brille werden einige Befreiungsbewegungen thematisiert, die für eine radikale Entkolonialisierung der Länder des afrikanischen Kontinents kämpften. Die radikalen Texte Fanons, gesprochen von der Fugees-Musikerin Lauryn Hill, strukturieren dabei das neu entdeckte Bildmaterial, das einige der heftigsten Zusammenstöße zwischen Aufständischen und Militär in Angola, Mozambique, Guinea-Bissau und Liberia zeigt. Zudem wird ein Ausblick auf aktuelle Konflikte geliefert, der verdeutlicht, wie sehr die afrikanischen Länder noch immer mit den Folgen der europäischen Kolonialisierung zu kämpfen haben.     Abstract: Faire la sociologie de la construction des sentiments d'appartenance «politique» revient à analyser les perceptions subjectives construites eu égard aux communautés politiques. Pour les appréhender nous nous sommes attachée aux trajectoires biographiques des migrants et enfants de migrants polonais vivant en France et en Allemagne au moment de l'enquête. L'étude de ces trajectoires «polonaises» en termes de bifurcations biographiques, de «genres de vie» - où l'expérience migratoire occupe une place centrale fait cohabiter, dans l'analyse, le temps court de l'événement biographique et le temps long des socialisations. En nous attachant aux rapports de ce «groupe témoin» vis-à-vis de la France et de l'Allemagne, ce sont aussi les « idiomes de la nationalité et de la citoyenneté» de ces deux Etats-nations que les Polonais nous invitent à repenser. Si les sentiments d'appartenance s'objectivent en référence au Droit de la nationalité, aux constructions socio-historiques de la citoyenneté, cette sociologie des sentiments d'appartenance, faite à hauteur d'hommes et de femmes, interroge - plutôt qu'elle ne le prend pour acquis - le poids du « national» dans les représentations et nous conduit dans le même temps à déconstruire la catégorie de citoyenneté. Dans ce cadre, nous userons d'une terminologie plurielle: nationalisme, patriotisme, étatisme et civisme. La construction des sentiments d'appartenance est un processus qui voit se côtoyer des périodes où « l'identité politique» est déstabilisée; où, en tension avec les puissances d'Etat, elle se négocie ; où, à la recherche de reconnaissance, un groupe tend à vouloir affirmer sa singularité

Elles influencent la communication et structurent la situation d'échanges. Comment coopèrent les deux interlocuteurs dans la communication ? Quelles stratégies développent-ils (stratégies d'évitement de difficultés et/ou stratégies d'affrontement de difficultés) ? Quels procédés ont-ils mis en oeuvre pour parvenir à une compréhension mutuelle (procédés d'ordre linguistique et/ou procédés d'ordre interactionnel) ? C'est sur ces questions qu'est centré notre présent travail de recherches
    Abstract: A comparative study of language interactions in medical examination in French and in Vietnam has highlighted the differences in language, socio-culture which dominant the behavior of language of interlocutors and stay at many angles of language: vocative language, speech acts, etc. These differences form difficulties for Vietnamese doctors to communicate with French patients and/or French speaking patients. They affect not only the communication, but also re-structured situations. How do two interlocutors cooperate in communication ? or what strategies do they develop to cope with the difficulties ? Which tactics do they use to implement those strategies to understand each other ? These are questions that we would like to clarify in this study

    Abstract: Karneval in Patamban wird im ganzen Dorf gefeiert, ein Tag zum Späße machen. Die Mädchen halten kleine Stiere in der Hand und jagen damit die jungen Männer. Es wird auch getanzt, einen Stierkampf symbolisierend. Die Cargueros der drei Darstellungen von Maria haben besondere Pflichten zu erfüllen. Sie laden Gäste zu sich ein, verteilen Früchte, Tamales und Brot. Auch die Encendedoras der Mariä Empfängnis haben Gäste eingeladen. Sie helfen, die Pflichten zu erfüllen. Am Nachmittag holen die Cargueros von den Feldern Stiere aus Maisstangen ins Dorf. Die Cabildos, die Ältesten des Dorfes, brandmarken sie. Anschließend kämpfen sie miteinander. Dieses Jahr traf man sich im Gehöft des Kene, des Carguero der Mariä Empfängnis, da ihre Kapelle im Kirchhof nicht genutzt werden konnte. Der Karneval endet am Aschermittwoch mit einer Prozession der drei Jesusfiguren und dem Aufbringen eines Aschekreuzes auf der Stirne der Gläubigen.
    Abstract: Carnival in Patamban is celebrated by the whole village. It is a day when people make fun of each other. The girls, with a small wooden bull figure in their hands, hunt the young men. Sometimes they dance thus symbolising a bull fight. The cargueros of the three Virgin Mary figures have special obligations to fulfil these days. They invite people and share with them fruits, tamales and bread. Also, the encendedoras have invited guests. They help them to fulfil their obligations. In the afternoon the cargueros fetch from the fields bull figures made from corn stalks. The cabildos, the elders of the village, brand them. This year people met at the compound of Kene, the carguero of María de la Concepción. Her chapel in the churchyard had fallen to pieces. Carnival ends on Ash Wednesday. In the afternoon, the procession with the three Jesús Nazareno figures is held. Ash Wednesday ends with the marking of an ash cross on the participants' foreheads.

    Abstract: Ein sogenannter "Tippelbruder" oder "Berber" wird von der Autorin auf seinen Wanderungen entlang der Mosel begleitet und befragt. Er erzählt von seinem Verhältnis zu den Ortschaften und ihren Menschen, die er auf seiner Wanderschaft aufsucht oder trifft. Er macht unterschiedliche Erfahrungen, die ihn insgesamt als Lebenskünstler mit Optimismus zeigen. So entsteht ein Bild eines ungewöhnlichen Mannes, zugleich aber auch das einer Region mit seinen Menschen, gesehen mit den Augen eines Postkarten-Wander-Malers.
    Abstract: A homeless man who lives in the Mosel valley wandering along the river talks to the author about his life experiences and life-style. He meets many people in the villages and comes across very different attitudes towards him. He appears as a man content with the life he leads, and he gives us his view of the people and scenery in the Mosel valley, seen through the eyes of an itinerant post-card artist.

    Abstract: Ce travail retrace l'histoire de l'immigration cambodgienne en France depuis la venue d'étudiants sous le protectorat français, à la fin du XIXe siècle. Cette immigration a connu de nombreuses formes. Les séjours temporaires d'étudiants et les renforts de guerre sous le protectorat n'ont jamais concerné plus de quelques centaines d'individus. L'immigration massive et définitive de réfugiés, à la fin du XXe siècle, a par contre amené plus de 50 000 Cambodgiens en France. À présent, les regroupements familiaux et les mariages viennent s'ajouter à l'immigration étudiante. Des associations politiques cambodgiennes ont existé en France dès les années 1940. Elles ont évolué au fil du temps, suivant l'histoire du Cambodge. On observe aujourd'hui des associations principalement culturelles, existant au sein d'une communauté beaucoup plus nombreuse et structurée. L'accueil de cette population par l'État et les Français, plutôt hostile durant les guerres, a été favorable par la suite, jouant un rôle non négligeable dans l'intégration des réfugiés. Leur réception a été organisée par des dirigeants soucieux de ne pas commettre les mêmes erreurs qu'avec d'autres populations. Les Cambodgiens ont ainsi été dispersés dans tout le pays, accueillis pour plus des deux tiers dans des centres provisoires d'hébergement. La politique d'accueil, les réactions des Français, la culture des Cambodgiens sont autant de facteurs qui ont induit leur stratégie d'intégration. Cette histoire a été illustrée par l'étude de la ville de Toulouse, ville d'accueil depuis le début de cette immigration dont la communauté cambodgienne a connu ces trois dernières décennies une vie associative dynamique
    Abstract: This study details the history of Cambodian immigration in France since the French Protectorate became established, at the end of 19th century. This immigration took many forms. Students' and military troops' temporary stays during the Protectorate concerned a few hundred people ail together. This was followed by a massive and permanent immigration in France of more than 50,000 Cambodian refugees at the end of the 20th century. Nowadays, Cambodian student immigration is supplemented with people settling in by family entry and through marriage. Cambodian political associations have been present in France since the 1940's. These associations have evolved over time, depending on Cambodia's situation. These days, Cambodian associations are mainly cultural and operate within a much bigger and more structured community. The French state and population were rather hostile to Cambodian immigrants during wars, but they became welcoming later on, which played a significant positive role in the integration of refugees. These refugees were then received by institutions paying attention not to repeat the mistakes made with other nationalities. Thus Cambodian people were scattered ail around the country, more than two thirds of them being taken care of in temporary housing centers. Reception policy, reactions of French people, and Cambodian people's culture concurred to the integration strategy of these immigrants. This history has been detailed through the specific study of Toulouse, a city that has welcomed this immigration since its beginning and whose Cambodian community has been characterized for the past three decades by a lively social life through associations

    Abstract: La démarche historico-sociologique de Walter Benjamin dans Paris, capitale du XIXe siècle, ce « livre qui n'est pas un livre », n'est pas une démarche de flâneur, mais celle d'un chiffonnier. Modèle hérétique de savant, le chiffonnier collecte les rebuts de la vie onirique du collectif depuis les premières utopies socialistes jusqu'aux dernières fantasmagories bourgeoises, du début à la fin du XIXe siècle, en les mettant en relation avec la structure économique du capitalisme et avec le mouvement social naissant. Il y rassemble ainsi les éléments disjoints d'une véritable expérience historique qu'expriment tant la parole ouvrière que l'imagerie bourgeoise, alliées chacune à leur manière à un « matérialisme anthropologique » ravivé par le machinisme. A cette fin, il part lui-même de sa propre expérience historique en tant que ce passé mis au rebut l'y interpelle, et cela de manière à faire sauter le faux continuum d'un historicisme et d'un sociologisme narcotiques.
    Abstract: Walter Benjamin's historical-sociological reasoning in The Arcades Project - this "book which is not a book"— is not that of the flâneur, but of the ragpicker. As the heretic model of the scholar, the ragpicker collects the refuse of the dream life of the collective from the first socialists utopias to the last bourgeois phantasmagorias, from the beginning to the end of the 19th century, relating them to the economic structure of capitalism and to the burgeoning social movement. He assembles here the disjointed elements of a real historical experience, expressed through worker's speech rather than in bourgeois imagery, each allied with an "anthropological materialism" brought back to life by mechanization. For this purpose, the ragpicker starts from his own historical experience, which allows him to relate to this refused past in order to explode the false continuity of a narcotic historicism and a narcotic sociologism.

    Abstract: La démarche historico-sociologique de Walter Benjamin dans Paris, capitale du XIXe siècle, ce « livre qui n'est pas un livre », n'est pas une démarche de flâneur, mais celle d'un chiffonnier. Modèle hérétique de savant, le chiffonnier collecte les rebuts de la vie onirique du collectif depuis les premières utopies socialistes jusqu'aux dernières fantasmagories bourgeoises, du début à la fin du XIXe siècle, en les mettant en relation avec la structure économique du capitalisme et avec le mouvement social naissant. Il y rassemble ainsi les éléments disjoints d'une véritable expérience historique qu'expriment tant la parole ouvrière que l'imagerie bourgeoise, alliées chacune à leur manière à un « matérialisme anthropologique » ravivé par le machinisme. A cette fin, il part lui-même de sa propre expérience historique en tant que ce passé mis au rebut l'y interpelle, et cela de manière à faire sauter le faux continuum d'un historicisme et d'un sociologisme narcotiques.
    Abstract: Walter Benjamin's historical-sociological reasoning in The Arcades Project - this "book which is not a book"— is not that of the flâneur, but of the ragpicker. As the heretic model of the scholar, the ragpicker collects the refuse of the dream life of the collective from the first socialists utopias to the last bourgeois phantasmagorias, from the beginning to the end of the 19th century, relating them to the economic structure of capitalism and to the burgeoning social movement. He assembles here the disjointed elements of a real historical experience, expressed through worker's speech rather than in bourgeois imagery, each allied with an "anthropological materialism" brought back to life by mechanization. For this purpose, the ragpicker starts from his own historical experience, which allows him to relate to this refused past in order to explode the false continuity of a narcotic historicism and a narcotic sociologism.

    Abstract: Anthropologist/filmmaker Barbara Keifenheim studied the Kashinawa (Huni Kuin) of the Peruvian lowlands from 1977 until 1996. In this film, co-directed by Patrick Deshayes and originally made in a German and French version in 1984 using older film excerpts from a film from 1951 by Harald Schultz, the Indians speak about their cultural values, cosmology, rituals and their encounters with the Whites' world. Images of everyday life and work in metal-production from Germany are shown to the Indians and interpreted by them. Film images appear to them like their drug visions. The English version of 2009 contains concluding statements about cultural change in the Indians' world since the 1980s. (German subtitles, see film C 12693)

    Abstract: Basierend auf Mythen und Legenden erzählt der Film auf verschiedene Weise die Geschichte der peruanischen Anden und des Dorfes Balta, einer Siedlung der Kashinawa, und seiner Bevölkerung. Zugleich gibt er Einblicke in das Alltagsleben (Brandrodung, Jagd, Nahrung) der Kashinawa. Es kommen unterschiedliche Erzählansätze (Legenden, im Schulunterricht) zur Anwendung.
    Abstract: Based on myths and legends, the film shows different ways of telling the history of the Cashinahua people and of Balta village in the Peruvian Andes. We also learn about everyday culture (slash-and-burn agriculture, hunting, food). Different strategies of telling history and stories (legends, school lessons) are applied.

    Abstract: Dans cette étude, nous cherchons à montrer comment on peut mobiliser, à partir d'un corpus composé de textes législatifs et réglementaires, les apports d'une analyse comparative des interventions linguistiques allemandes et françaises pour contribuer à une réflexion, d'une part, sur la définition d'une politique linguistique, en tant qu'objet, et, d'autre part, sur la délimitation des politiques linguistiques en tant que champ ou domaine de la sociolinguistique. Pour ce faire, nous nous proposons de faire ressortir, dans un premier temps, des traits distinctifs de l'intervention institutionnelle sur la langue en Allemagne et en France, avant de mettre au jour, au moyen d'une approche contextualisée des documents, des aspects moins immédiatement visibles de l'intervention. Cette deuxième phase d'analyse vise à proposer une typologie des interventions institutionnelles allemandes et françaises sur la langue, afin de procéder, en dernière analyse, à une comparaison de ces interventions. L'approche comparative vise, in fine, à mettre à jour les éléments qui contribuent à la définition d'une politique linguistique. La définition proposée est ensuite confrontée à celles qui ressortent d'autres travaux sur ce sujet. Au-delà de sa contribution théorique et méthodologique au champ des politiques linguistiques, cette étude vise à attirer l'attention sur les interventions institutionnelles sur la langue d'un pays voisin, l'Allemagne, qui suscite, à l'heure actuelle, encore trop peu l'intérêt des sociolinguistes
    Abstract: The present study tries to demonstrate the contribution of a comparative analysis of German and French governmental actions on language to the definition of a language policy as an object, on the one hand, and its delimitation as a scientific field (part of sociolinguistics), on the other hand. Caring an empirical approach, we take as a starting point the national or regional public action that comes forward through the elaboration of legal and administrative texts with different juridical values (laws, decrees, instructions, decisions and orders). A first examination of the documents aims to bring to light the salient aspects of the German and French governmental action on language by recognizing their objects, objectives and modalities as well as the actors involved. A second analytical level aims to contextualize the texts. By means of contextualization, we reveal some new elements defining the governmental language action that are less immediately visible. By insisting on its covered (implicit) objectives, we propose a concise typology that distinguishes, on the one hand, the actions aiming the defense of the national language and, on the other hand, the actions pursuing a social aim (protection of linguistic rights). Resting on this typology, we finally compare the German and French governmental language action in order to bring out criteria for the definition of a language policy. The latter is then confronted to other definitions of language policy resulting from other studies. Beyond its theoretical and methodological contribution, this study aims to draw attention to actions on language in Germany; a country that still does not arouse much interest from sociolinguists

    Abstract: Cette thèse se penche sur les causes de l'immigration en France des mères philippines, ainsi que sur les conséquences de leur départ sur la dynamique familiale, les relations interpersonnelles et la structure du pouvoir au sein de la famille. Un travail de terrain a été réalisé en France et aux Philippines, centré sur des entretiens avec les mères migrantes et avec les membres de leurs familles restées au pays. L'analyse montre que la logique de départ des mères philippines s'inscrit dans le but d'accomplir une « bonne maternité ». Migrer transforme ces femmes en soutiens principaux, voire uniques de leur famille. Elles se trouvent dans une situation de justification continuelle de leur absence dans leur foyer et recourent à des stratégies variées de maternage transnational. Leur migration renforce leur maternité : pour celles qui sont en situation régulière, l'argent gagné en France leur permet d'accomplir leurs obligations familiales et leur statut leur permet de retourner régulièrement aux Philippines visiter leur famille. Dans le cas des femmes en situation irrégulière, c'est l'accent mis sur leur longue absence physique ininterrompue de leur foyer, perçue comme un immense sacrifice par leurs enfants et par l'ensemble de la société, qui leur permet d'endosser une image de « bonne mère ». Le départ de la mère suscite un bouleversement progressif et une réorganisation matérielle, spatiale et mentale. Il engendre une reconfiguration des rapports de pouvoir et du rôle genre dans la famille, restructurant progressivement le fonctionnement global de la famille. Malgré la distance ressentie par chaque membre de la famille, tous s'efforcent de préserver son unité et son image sociale. Ainsi, la famille existe toujours dans l'esprit, dans la mémoire, dans les souvenirs du passé et dans l'imagination de chacun - toutes choses indispensables au fonctionnement d'une famille transnationale entre nucléaire et étendue
    Abstract: This thesis focuses on the causes of Filipino mothers' immigration to France, as well as on the consequences of their departure on family dynamics, on interpersonal relations, and on the power structure within the family. Fieldwork was conducted in France and in the Philippines, centered on interviews with migrant mothers and with members of their families staying in the country. Analysis shows that the logic of Filipino mothers' emigration is in line with the objective of accomplishing a "good mothering". Migrating transforms these women into main, or even sole breadwinners of their family. They find themselves in a situation of continuous justification of their absence at home and resort to various strategies of transnational mothering. Their migration reinforces their motherhood: the money earned in France by those in regular situation allows them to fulfil their family obligations while returning regularly to the Philippines to visit their family; whereas in the case of women in irregular situation, it is the emphasis on their long uninterrupted physical absence from home, perceived as an immense sacrifice by their children and by the society at large, that allows them to appear as "good mothers". The mother's departure gives rise to progressive disruption and to material, spatial and mental reorganization of the family. It reconfigures the power relations and the gendered role in the family, progressively restructuring its overall functioning. Despite the distance felt by each family member, they ail exert efforts to preserve unity of the family and its social image. Thus, the family lingers in each person's mind, memory, souvenirs of the past and imagination - all things essential for the functioning of a transnational family in between nuclear and extended

    Abstract: La présence française au Brésil de la seconde moitié du XVIe siècle jusqu'au premier quart du XVIIe est analysée à travers le prisme de la construction d'une relation à l'Autre, et selon trois axes privilégiés : 1. l'Autre : l'adversaire européen dans une région qu'il considère comme étant son domaine inaliénable ; 2. l'Autre : le partenaire et l'allié amérindien ; 3. l'Autre : le pays, son potentiel politique et économique, mais aussi son image allégorique et morale. Cette présence est considérée comme un phénomène complexe qui ne se résume pas aux tentatives de la "colonisation éphémère" encadrée par le milieu du XVIe siècle et le début du XVIIe
    Abstract: The French presence in Brazil from the second half of the XVIth century up to the first quarter of the XVIIth century is analyzed in the light of the definition of the relation towards the Other. The study is concentrated around three great axes : 1. the Other : the European adversary in the region he considers as his inalienable possession ; 2. the Other : the Amerindian partner and allied ; 3. the Other: the country, its political and economic potential, and also its allegoric and moral image. This presence is considered as a complex phenomenon which can’t be restricted to the attempts of the "ephemeral colonization" of the second half of the XVIth century and of the first quarter of the XVIIth century

Cependant ils adhèrent aux normes culturelles de la société française dans laquelle ils partagent les préoccupations de leurs pairs. Comment, à partir d'éléments souvent contradictoires, en tout cas différents, ces enfants construisent-ils leur identité culturelle ? Quels sont les aménagements nécessaires pour se forger une représentation de soi satisfaisante ? Comment faire de l'un à partir du multiple ? Quelles sont, au cours des années qui les mènent de l'âge de raison à l'adolescence, les constantes et les évolutions de leur discours, à la fois expression et support de leur construction identitaire ? Les préadolescents d'aujourd'hui, d'autre part, ont-il de leur identité la même perception que celle qu'avaient des jeunes du même âge il y a quinze ans ? Qu'est-ce qui se maintient, qu'est-ce qui a changé ? Dans quel rapport entre la culture de la société occidentale dans laquelle ils vivent et celle de la société arabo-musulmane d'où sont issus leurs parents se construisent-il ? C'est à partir de l'analyse de discours recueillis au cours d'entretiens individuels et collectifs et d'un même questionnaire, soumis dans des conditions similaires à des enfants et des préadolescents à quinze ans d'intervalle, que nous abordons ces questions, sous l'angle, d'une part, des affiliations et des pratiques revendiquées au quotidien et d'autre part, l'islam jouant un rôle majeur dans la construction identitaire de ces enfants, sous celui du rapport au sacré
    Abstract: The children of Northern African immigration who are living in France today inherit, at different degrees, from their family's original culture. However, they adhere to the cultural norms of the French society in which they share their equals' preoccupations. How do these children build their cultural identity from components that are often contradictory, different in any case? What are the necessary adjustments to invent a satisfying self-representation? How do they make unity from multiple components? What are, through the years leading them from childhood to adolescence, the constants and the evolutions of their speech, which is both the expression and the support of their identity building?

    Abstract: Cette thèse se penche sur les causes de l'immigration en France des mères philippines, ainsi que sur les conséquences de leur départ sur la dynamique familiale, les relations interpersonnelles et la structure du pouvoir au sein de la famille. Un travail de terrain a été réalisé en France et aux Philippines, centré sur des entretiens avec les mères migrantes et avec les membres de leurs familles restées au pays. L'analyse montre que la logique de départ des mères philippines s'inscrit dans le but d'accomplir une « bonne maternité ». Migrer transforme ces femmes en soutiens principaux, voire uniques de leur famille. Elles se trouvent dans une situation de justification continuelle de leur absence dans leur foyer et recourent à des stratégies variées de maternage transnational. Leur migration renforce leur maternité : pour celles qui sont en situation régulière, l'argent gagné en France leur permet d'accomplir leurs obligations familiales et leur statut leur permet de retourner régulièrement aux Philippines visiter leur famille. Dans le cas des femmes en situation irrégulière, c'est l'accent mis sur leur longue absence physique ininterrompue de leur foyer, perçue comme un immense sacrifice par leurs enfants et par l'ensemble de la société, qui leur permet d'endosser une image de « bonne mère ». Le départ de la mère suscite un bouleversement progressif et une réorganisation matérielle, spatiale et mentale. Il engendre une reconfiguration des rapports de pouvoir et du rôle genre dans la famille, restructurant progressivement le fonctionnement global de la famille. Malgré la distance ressentie par chaque membre de la famille, tous s'efforcent de préserver son unité et son image sociale. Ainsi, la famille existe toujours dans l'esprit, dans la mémoire, dans les souvenirs du passé et dans l'imagination de chacun - toutes choses indispensables au fonctionnement d'une famille transnationale entre nucléaire et étendue
    Abstract: This thesis focuses on the causes of Filipino mothers' immigration to France, as well as on the consequences of their departure on family dynamics, on interpersonal relations, and on the power structure within the family. Fieldwork was conducted in France and in the Philippines, centered on interviews with migrant mothers and with members of their families staying in the country. Analysis shows that the logic of Filipino mothers' emigration is in line with the objective of accomplishing a "good mothering". Migrating transforms these women into main, or even sole breadwinners of their family. They find themselves in a situation of continuous justification of their absence at home and resort to various strategies of transnational mothering. Their migration reinforces their motherhood: the money earned in France by those in regular situation allows them to fulfil their family obligations while returning regularly to the Philippines to visit their family; whereas in the case of women in irregular situation, it is the emphasis on their long uninterrupted physical absence from home, perceived as an immense sacrifice by their children and by the society at large, that allows them to appear as "good mothers". The mother's departure gives rise to progressive disruption and to material, spatial and mental reorganization of the family. It reconfigures the power relations and the gendered role in the family, progressively restructuring its overall functioning. Despite the distance felt by each family member, they ail exert efforts to preserve unity of the family and its social image. Thus, the family lingers in each person's mind, memory, souvenirs of the past and imagination - all things essential for the functioning of a transnational family in between nuclear and extended

    Abstract: Die Geschichte des Filmes beginnt schon 23 Jahre vor seiner Veröffentlichung, im Jahr 1984. Damals wurde im südindischen Dorf Mulayiur ein Film über den Alltag der dortigen Reisbauern gedreht, der sich insbesondere mit dem Kastensystem befasst. Über Unberührbare, die niedrigste Schicht, heißt es: "Vom sozialen und religiösen Leben des Hauptdorfes sind sie ausgeschlossen. Es gibt keine Möglichkeiten, die Kastenschranken zu überwinden". Aber wie ist die Stellung der Unberührbaren heute? Was hat sich verändert im Dorfgefüge? Während im Dorf mitgelebt wird, berichten die Protagonisten von damals und ihre jüngeren Angehörigen über die heutige Situation. Dabei vermitteln Unberührbare und Angehörige höherer Kasten überraschend unterschiedliche Bilder der Entwicklung des Kastensystems. Mit Ausschnitten des IWF-Films "Alltag tamilischer Reisbauern in Südindien" (D 1629).
    Abstract: The history of the film already begins 23 years before its release, in the year 1984. At that time, a film was made in the South Indian village Mulayiur, which dealt with the everyday life of rice farmers in the village, particularly with regard to the caste system. About untouchables, the lowest caste, is said: "They are separated from the religious and social life of the main village. There is no way of overcoming the caste barriers." But what`s about the situation of the untouchables today? What has changed in the social structure of the village? While living with the protagonists of the older film and their young relatives in the village, they report about the situation today. In doing so, untouchables and members of higher castes convey surprisingly diverse images of the development of the caste system. Including sequences from the IWF film "Daily Life of Tamil Rice Growers in South India" (D 1629).

    Abstract: Das Leben der Moorkolonisten, die abseits der Wasserstraßen in den abgelegenen Mooren Ostfrieslands siedelten, war erbärmlich. Der desolate Zustand der Wege schnitt sie im Herbst und Winter von der Außenwelt ab, vor ihren Hütten türmte sich übermannshoch das Moor auf. Die lebensfeindlichen Bedingungen werden greifbar, wenn sich die Protagonisten an die kleinen Kolonistenhäuser erinnern, in denen sie Tür an Tür mit Schaf und Ziege lebten; wenn sie berichten, wie mühselig es war, das Moor Meter für Meter abzutorfen und das neue Land zu kultivieren; wenn sie uns zeigen, wo immer wieder die Pferde eingesackt sind, wenn sie die mit Torf beladenen Wagen aus dem Moor ziehen sollten. Bei diesen Erzählern handelt es sich um die letzte Generation derjenigen, die wie ihre Vorfahren direkt am Moor siedelten und einen Eindruck davon hinterlassen können, was es heißt, ein Kolonist zu sein.
    Abstract: The life of the moor colonists who settled beyond the waterways in the outlying moors of East Frisia was miserable. The desolate condition of the paths isolated them from the outside world in fall and winter, in front of their huts the moor towered head-high. These hostile conditions become tangible when the protagonists remember their small houses where they lived door to door with sheep and goats, when they tell how arduous it was to harvest the peat meter by meter and to cultivate the land; when they show us the places where the horses used to be bogged down with their turf loaded waggons. The protagonists belong to the last generation of settlers who colonized the moor like their ancestors and who can give us an idea of what it means to be a colonist.

    Abstract: Sorbe ist, wer sich als Sorbe bekennt - so die offizielle Definition der sorbischen Minderheit, festgeschrieben in der sächsischen Landesverfassung. Weder Abstammung noch Sprache sind entscheidend: Was zählt, ist das Zugehörigkeitsgefühl, die Selbst-Definition. "Sorbe sein - Sorbe bleiben" erzählt aus der Sicht "bekennender" sorbischer Jugendlicher aus Bautzen davon, was es eigentlich bedeutet, sorbisch zu sein. Die sorbische Sprache zu sprechen, an der sorbischen Kultur teilzuhaben, der katholische Glaube, der Wunsch und die Schwierigkeit, einen sorbischen Partner zu finden - all das sind Bausteine einer sorbischen Identität, die alles andere als einheitlich ist und die sich neben und innerhalb der deutschen Identität behaupten muss. Für die Jugendlichen geht "sorbisch sein" weit darüber hinaus, an sorbischen Traditionen wie dem Osterreiten oder einer Trachtentanzgruppe teilzunehmen - ein sorbisches Kabarett oder eine sorbische Jugendgruppe, die Feten, Veranstaltungen und der Austausch mit anderen Minderheiten, zeugen davon.
    Abstract: A Sorb is anybody who claims to be a Sorb - thus the official definition of the Sorbian minority, as it is codified in the Saxonian Constitution. Neither genealogy nor language matter, decisive is the feeling of belonging, the self-definition. The film tells its story from the angle of Sorbian youths from Bautzen, telling us what it means to be a Sorb. To speak the Sorbian language, to share the Sorbian culture, the Catholic faith, the desire and difficulty to find a Sorbian spouse - all these are elements of a Sorbian identity which is all but uniform and has to prove itself inside the German identity. For Sorbian youths "to be a Sorb" goes far beyond practising the Sorbian traditions like Easter riding or attending folklore groups - a Sorbian cabaret, a Sorbian youth group, their parties, events and the cooperation with other minorities bear witness to this.

    Abstract: This film is a portrait of the filmmaker's uncle, the patriarch Haj Taghi, an old bazaar shoe merchant in Borujerd, Western Iran. After a car accident he had to hand over business to his sons. They talk about the economic and family problems, many of them resulting from the changes from traditional to modern values in contemporary Iranian society.

    Abstract: Das Unternehmen erscheint ungeheuerlich: Spatenstich für Spatenstich, Meter für Meter, Tag für Tag, Jahr für Jahr gruben sich die ostfriesischen Fehntjer ins unendliche Moor, um es dann auf ihren kleinen Torfschiffen in die nahegelegenen Städte zu verschiffen; von dort brachten sie Stallmist, Fäkalien der Städter und Sand aus der Ems zur Kultivierung der abgetorften Moorfläche mit. Alles per Hand. Die Kanäle wurden zu den Straßen Ostfrieslands und die Schiffe mit ihren Besatzungen zum Inbegriff von Mobilität, zum weithin sichtbaren Symbol für Beweglichkeit und Freiheit. Im Film wird dieses Bild zurechtgerückt: Die Fehntjer präsentieren sich in ihrem unermüdlichen Kampf als Idealtyp der Menschheitsgeschichte - gegen jede Unbill ankämpfend machen sie sich ihre Umwelt zur Heimat - nach ihrem Bilde. Eine Landschaft, die sich uns heute adrett, aufgeräumt und als "typischer" ostfriesischer Naturraum präsentiert, erscheint so in einem anderen Licht.
    Abstract: The operation seems monstrous: spade by spade, meter by meter, day after day, year after year the East Frisian 'Fehntjer' dug the endless moor to ship the peat to nearby towns in their little peat ships. In order to cultivate the cutaway bogs, they brought back dung, town-dwellers' faeces and sand from the river Ems. All by hand. The channels became the East Frisian roads, and along with them the ships and their crew became the quintessence of mobility, the evident symbol of freedom. In the film this impression is adjusted. In their tireless struggle the 'Fehntjer' present themselves as the ideal type of mankind. Fighting against any rigours, they make their land their homeland - formed after their image. A landscape that nowadays seems to be smart, neat, tidy, the "typical" East Frisian natural landscape appears in another light.

Padu bedeutet "Bitterkeit", der Oktober steht im Zeichen von Padu und Hala (Hitze), läßt Menschen erkranken, Tier und Pflanze darben. Die Padu-Zerermonie dient der Vertreibung dieser Übel, beschwört das lebensspendende Wasser und erneuert die sozialen Beziehungen. Gleichzeitig dient sie der Vorbereitung von Nyale, der Regenzeremonie im Februar, dem Beginn der Reispflanzung.     Abstract: Laboya is situated on the southern coast of West Sumba (Eastern Indonesia), an island never introduced to Hindu culture. Not until the beginning of the 20th century did Christianity and then Islam reach the Sumbanese. Even nowadays most people say they believe in Marapu, a term referring to their ancestors. It is the task of the living to nourish and pray to ancestral spirits in order to receive their blessings. Padu and Nyale are the two ceremonies marking the annual agricultural cycle (rice, maize and cassava). Padu means bitterness. October is a month of 'bitterness' and 'heat' (hala) causing people to fall ill, and preventing animals and plants from thriving. The Padu ceremony is to get rid of these ills, to let the life-giving water flow again and to renew social bonds. The Padu ritual also serves to prepare the rain rituals of Nyale which take place in February, when the rice planting season is re-opened. During the Nyale rituals the arrival of Nyale seaworms (announcing heavy rainfall) means the ancestral blessing has been given. (Research footage of low technical quality).     Abstract: Die Moore Ostfrieslands sind abgetorft - das Land präsentiert sich kultiviert. Dennoch: Nahezu alle Ostfriesen verbindet noch immer eine ganz besondere Beziehung zu dem Stoff, der ihr Land einstmals meterhoch bedeckte. Ob Liebe oder Hass: Das Moor hat die Mentalität der Ostfriesen geprägt wie sonst vielleicht nur das Wasser. Auch wenn der Kampf mit dem Moor keine Existenzen mehr beeinflusst, so sind die Spuren, die er hinterlassen hat, doch weiterhin sichtbar: In den Tradierungen, den Geschichten, Legenden und Erinnerungen der Menschen. Und vor allem in den Symbolen des Torfgrabens: Der "Tweekrieger", der "Sticker" und die Torfkarre. Diese Arbeitsgeräte rufen bei wohl jedem Ostfriesen mit starken Emotionen besetzte Assoziationen hervor. Bei diesem Filmprojekt stehen die Erinnerungen an eine Arbeit im Mittelpunkt, die noch vor wenigen Jahrzehnten das Leben der Ostfriesen bestimmte wie keine andere.
    Abstract: East Friesland's moors nowadays are cutaway bogs. The landscape is cultivated. Still, most East Frisians have a special connection with the stuff that once covered their land meters high. For love or hate: the moor has shaped the East Frisians' mentality like probably only the water was able to. Even if the rigours with the moor do not influence any livelihoods, the traces it left are still visible: in the traditions, stories, legends, peoples' memories. And above all in the symbols of cutting peat: the "Tweekieger", the "Sticker" and the peat kart. For their associations, these tools still arouse strong emotions in any East Frisian. This film project focuses on the memories of a work that only a few decades ago determined the lives of East Frisians like no other.

    Abstract: Laboya liegt an der Südküste Westsumbas (Ostindonesien), einer Insel, die aufgrund ihrer Lage nie von der Hindu-Kultur beeinflusst worden war. Erst zu Beginn des 20. Jhs. wurden Christentum und Islam auf Sumba eingeführt. Noch heute glauben die Einwohner an den Einfluß der Ahnen. Die Lebenden müssen sie nähren und für sie beten, um ihren Segen zu erhalten. Padu und Nyale bilden die beiden Hauptzeremonien im Jahreskreis dieser Ackerbaukultur (Reis, Mais und Maniok). Padu bedeutet "Bitterkeit", der Oktober steht im Zeichen von Padu und Hala (Hitze), läßt Menschen erkranken, Tier und Pflanze darben. Die Padu-Zerermonie dient der Vertreibung dieser Übel, beschwört das lebensspendende Wasser und erneuert die sozialen Beziehungen. Gleichzeitig dient sie der Vorbereitung von Nyale, der Regenzeremonie im Februar, dem Beginn der Reispflanzung. Das Erscheinen der Nyale-Meereswürmer als Vorboten der kommenden schweren Niederschläge bezeugt den Segen der Ahnen. (Forschungsfilmaufnahmen minderer technischer Qualität).     Abstract: Laboya is situated on the southern coast of West Sumba (Eastern Indonesia), an island never introduced to Hindu culture. Not until the beginning of the 20th century did Christianity and then Islam reach the Sumbanese. Even nowadays most people say they believe in Marapu, a term referring to their ancestors. It is the task of the living to nourish and pray to ancestral spirits in order to receive their blessings. Padu and Nyale are the two ceremonies marking the annual agricultural cycle (rice, maize and cassava). Padu means bitterness. October is a month of 'bitterness' and 'heat' (hala) causing people to fall ill, and preventing animals and plants from thriving. The Padu ceremony is to get rid of these ills, to let the life-giving water flow again and to renew social bonds. The Padu ritual also serves to prepare the rain rituals of Nyale which take place in February, when the rice planting season is re-opened. During the Nyale rituals the arrival of Nyale seaworms (announcing heavy rainfall) means the ancestral blessing has been given. Heute wird Kava vor allem außerhalb ritueller Anlässe konsumiert und für den globalen Markt produziert. Für viele Pazifikinsulaner aber wird Kava immer eines bleiben - der Trank der Götter.
    Abstract: This film, set in Vanuatu, Fiji and Samoa, gives insight into Kava rituals as they are carried out today. But Kava is more than just a cultural relic, it is becoming a symbol of identity for many Pacific Islanders as for Oceania as a whole. Through Kava, a drink made from the root of a pepperplant, friendships are formed, visitors welcomed, and chiefly authority sanctioned. Today, Kava is increasingly bought, sold and consumed within non-ritual contexts. It is extracted, packaged, and produced for global markets. But for many Pacific Islanders, Kava will always remain: the drink of the Gods.

    Abstract: Der Dokumentarfilm unternimmt eine Reise in die Welt der traditionellen Heilkunde Mosambiks. Heiler und Heilerinnen aus dem Norden (matrilinear) und Süden (patrilinear) zeigen und erläutern ihre Behandlungsweisen bei psychosozialen Erkrankungen. Der Film ermöglicht ein besseres Verständnis des afrikanischen traditionellen Heilsystems, um den Austausch mit der modernen Medizin zu fördern und eine wirksame, kulturell angepaßte sozialmedizinische Gesundheitsversorgung und Prävention in Mosambik aufzubauen, die vor allem bei der AIDS-Prävention dringend benötigt wird. Der Film soll den in den vergangenen Jahren begonnenen Dialog zwischen Tradition und Moderne unterstützen.
    Abstract: Documentary on traditional medicine in Mozambique. Healers from the north (matrilinear) and the south (patrilinear) show and explain their treatment of psychosocial illnesses. The film facilitates a better understanding of the traditional African healing system to promote the exchange with modern medicine and to establish a working, culturally adapted socialmedical health care and prevention in Mozambique. This is especially needed for AIDS prevention. The film tries to encourage the recently started dialogue between tradition and modernity.

    Abstract: Schlittschuhlaufen hat in Ostfriesland Tradition: Seit der Urbarmachung der Hochmoore durchziehen Kanäle das Land - wenn sie im Winter zufroren, öffnete sich den einsamen Höfen für eine Weile das Tor zur Welt: “Ich fahr eben mal nach Emden, ´n Glas Senf kaufen”, war eine Redensart der Landbewohner, die sonst das ganze Jahr nicht in die Stadt kamen. Im Film erinnern sie sich an Wasserwüsten, die das Land im Herbst überzogen und im Winter zufroren, an “Schöfelbräute” und an legendäre Wettkämpfe.
    Abstract: Ice skating has a long tradition in East Frisia: the network of canals criss-crossing the countryside dates back to the time when the high-lying moors were first cultivated - when they froze in winter, the gateway to the world was opened for a while to isolated farms: ”I’m just off to Emden to buy a pot of mustard” was a saying of the countryside dwellers, who otherwise never visited the town the whole year round. In the film they recollect the expanses of water that covered the countryside in the autumn and froze in the winter, as well as ”skating brides” and legendary competitions.

    Abstract: Der Kawah Ijen (Grüner Krater) ist ein aktiver Vulkan auf der Ostseite der Insel Java. Dort liegt auch der größte schwefel- und salzsäurehaltige See der Welt. Seit 1968 arbeiten Bergmänner Tag und Nacht und unter unhaltbaren Bedingungen in dem gefährlichen und giftigen Krater. Die Arbeiter verdienen zwar überdurchschnittlich, zahlen dafür aber den Preis einer durch Giftgase und Knochenarbeit verkürzten Lebenserwartung.
    Abstract: The Kawah Ijen (green crater) is an active volcano situated on the extreme east side of the island of Java, where the biggest hydrochloric and sulfuric acid lake in the world is located. Since 1968 forced sulfur miners work by day and night, in untenable conditions in a hostile, toxic and harmful crater. Gathering the "yellow gold" these subhumans are paid more than the national average at the price of a life span reduced by the gases they breathe and the weight they carry.

    Abstract: Den Ausgangspunkt des Filmes bilden Aufnahmen (8 u. 16 mm) aus den späten 30er Jahren, aufgenommen vom damaligen Pächter des Göttinger Stadtguts in Rosdorf. Mit Hilfe weiterer Filmaufnahmen aus den 50er und 60er Jahren, historischer Fotos sowie aktueller Interviews mit Zeitzeugen beleuchtet der Film den technischen und sozialen Wandel in der Landwirtschaft im 20. Jahrhundert. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf den Entwicklungen nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg, dargestellt am Beispiel des Gutes. Zeugenaussagen über die Situation kleinerer und kleinster Höfe des Dorfes runden den Film ab.     Abstract: Starting point of the film is footage (8 and 16 mm) shot in the late 1930s by the administrator of the Göttingen estate in Rosdorf. By means of footage from the 1950s and 1960s, historical photographs, and present-day interviews with contemporary witnesses the film illustrates the technical and social development in agriculture in the 20th century, with special emphasis on the post-war development. The estate at Rosdorf lies in the focus of the film which is supplemented by statements on the current situation of small and smallest village farms. The DVD contains the complete 18 min archival footage „Harvest Works in Rosdorf“ from the late 1930s as bonus material.

    Abstract: Der Hamat'sa (oder "Kannibalentanz") ist die wichtigste und oft dargestellte Zeremonie der Kwakwaka'wakw (Kwakiutl) von British Colombia. Der Film geht der Geschichte der ethnologischen Darstellung des Tanzes und der Rückgabe des Archivmaterials an die Ureinwohner-Gemeinden nach. Er zeigt, welch unterschiedliche Einstellungen zu dieser Geschichte bestehen und wie sie die heutigen Aufführungen bestimmen. Mit Blick auf die eigene Feldforschung thematisiert der Autor Fragen der ethnographischen Repräsentation sowie der Beziehung zwischen Forscher und Forschungssubjekten.
    Abstract: The Hamat'sa (or "Cannibal Dance") is the most important and highly represented ceremony of the Kwakwaka'wakw (Kwakiutl) people of British Columbia. This film traces the history of anthropological depictions of the dance and, through the return of archival materials to a Native community, presents some of the ways in which diverse attitudes toward this history inform current presentations of the Hamat'sa. With a secondary focus on the filmmaker's fieldwork experience, the film also attends specifically to the ethics of ethnographic representation and to the renegotiation of relationships between anthropologists and their research subjects.

    Abstract: The filmmaker is touring Burkina Faso and Mali with the three Swiss protagonists of his film "Encounters on the Milky Way" (film C 12442). We see them at the Pan-African film festival in Ouagadougou during the premiere, in between open-air screenings driving through spectacular landscapes on washed-out dirt paths. The highlights of the trip are the screening in the remote village of Baraboulé for Amadou Dicko, the influential "Chef de Canton", and the audience on the following day for "Les Amis d'Amadou".     Abstract: Bei den Wana, die als Halbnomaden im indonesischen Regenwald leben, ist Indo Pino eine allseits anerkannte Schamanin. Ihr Neffe konvertierte vor einigen Monaten zum Christentum und predigt nun apokalyptische Visionen. Für ihn steht fest: wenn diese Visionen von Gott stammen, müssen die Visionen der Schamanen von Satan kommen. Ausgehend von der christlichen Idee der Erbsünde, werden die Begriffe "gut" und "böse" überdacht und die traditionellen Heilmethoden der Schamanen stark angegriffen. Vor unseren Augen findet ein Kampf zweier Glaubenswelten statt. (vgl. Film C 12437 "Indo Pino")
    Abstract: Among the Wana people, semi-nomads from the Indonesian forest, Indo Pino is a shaman recognized by everybody. Her nephew, who is also a shaman's son, converted to Christianity some months ago and is now preaching apocalyptic visions. And for him, if these visions come from God, the visions of the shamans inevitably must come from Satan. Through the Christian concepts of sin and original fault, good and evil notions are revised. The traditional healing practices of the shamans are heavily under attack. Under our eyes a fight between two worlds of religious belief is taking place. (see also film C 12437 "Indo Pino")

    Abstract: In Spergau, einem Dorf in unmittelbarer Nähe von Halle/Saale, findet alljährlich am Lichtmeßtag (2. Febr.) ein Heischegang der Junggesellen statt, dessen Vorspiel jedoch bereits Monate zuvor beginnt. Der Brauch spielt bei den Beteiligten, darüber hinaus aber im Bewußtsein der Dorföffentlichkeit eine außerordentliche Rolle. Der Film bietet eine ausführliche Dokumentation der Lichtmeß des Jahres 1996, zeigt die wichtigsten Figuren und befragt die Akteure. Ergänzt wird dieses durch kurze Sequenzen historischer Filmaufnahmen von Hans Hahne aus den 1920er Jahren.
    Abstract: At Spergau, a village near Halle/Saale, the bachelors perform an annual gift collection on Candlemas day (Feb. 2nd) whose preparation starts months before. This custom plays an important role not only for the organizers but for the whole village. The film documents the Candlemass of 1996, shows the most important figures and interviews the actors. Additionally, the film offers short sequences of historical footage by Hans Hahne from the 1920s.

    Abstract: Eine Musikgruppe der neuseeländischen Polizei reist nach Samoa, um dort beim jährlichen Teuila-Festival aufzutreten. Ihr Präsident, der Polizeikommissar Tyrone Laurenson, wurde mit samoanischer Abstammung in Auckland geboren und hat Samoa des öfteren bereist. Das Gruppenmitglied Mike Alofa dagegen, der als Sicherheitsoffizier arbeitet und als 8jähriger von Samoa nach Neuseeland kam, fährt nun erstmals nach 20 Jahren wieder in seine Heimat. Am Beispiel dieser beiden Protagonisten und ihrem Alltagsleben sowie ihren Gefühlen für ihre Heimat Samoa beschreibt der Film die doppelte Identität von Migranten, die ihren samoanischen Wurzeln verhaftet bleiben, zugleich aber eine neue, an westlichen Werten orientierte Identität in Neuseeland aufbauen. Die DVD enthält neben dem Film (C 1994) einen Kommentar, ein Gespräch des Filmemachers Rolf Husmann mit dem Hauptprotagonisten Tyrone Laurenson sowie ein 35minütiges Interview der beiden zum Thema Identität und Migration. Beide Gespräche wurden im Juli 2002 aufgezeichnet. Alle Gespräche und Kommentare wurden transkribiert und sind als Textdateien beigefügt.
    Abstract: A Cultural Group of the New Zealand Police travels to Western Samoa to perform at the annual Teuila Festival. Two group members of Samoan origin also return to Samoa on this occasion. While for Auckland-born Tyrone Laurenson, a police officer in Auckland and president of the group, it is just one of his regular visits to Samoa, for Michael Alofa, who came to New Zealand with his parents as an eight-year-old and now works in the security industry, it is the first return after 20 years. By describing the two protagonists' everyday life and work as well as their feelings about the notion of "home", the film exemplifies the split and at the same time double cultural identity of migrants who remain rooted in their Samoan culture, while over the years a new, western-oriented identity in New Zealand emerges. The DVD contains the film (C 1994) as well as the "film makers' commentary", a talk between film maker Rolf Husmann and protagonist Tyrone Laurenson, and a 35-minute-interview of the two. Both talks were recorded in July 2002. All conversations and commentaries were transcribed and are included in text files.
