    Abstract: Drei Viehzüchter und Milchhändler aus Mali und Burkina Faso reisen in die Schweiz zu den drei Berufskollegen im Seeland und im Berner Oberland. Zurück in ihrer Heimat berichten sie von ihren Erfahrungen im Alpenland. Wo ist das Vertraute im Fremden, wo das Fremde im Vertrauten? Im Wechsel der Perspektiven geraten gängige Vorstellungen von Kuh und Milch, Markt und Fortschritt, Mensch und Natur in Bewegung: Im Film geht es um Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede, um Veränderung, um Vertrautes und Neues in Afrika und in der Schweiz (vgl. Film C 12739, W 12992).
    Abstract: Three cattlemen from Mali and Burkina Faso travel across Switzerland and meet three dairy farmers and cheesemakers living in Seeland and Berner Oberland. Back in their own countries, they relate their experiences of this "rich" Alpine region to friends and neighbours. Discussions arise over cows and milk, the economy and progress, and the relationship between man and nature (see also film C 12739, W 12992).

    Abstract: Der Film beschreibt alltägliche Handlungen, die angesichts des Todes einen rituellen Charakter annehmen, und schenkt den fast unsichtbaren Gesten und Regungen Aufmerksamkeit, die Leiden und Unsicherheit erträglicher machen: das Streicheln einer Katze, ein Händedruck oder ein flüchtiger Blick. Bilder und Momente im Sterben und Trauern, wo wir im Alltag wegschauen, aus Unsicherheit, Angst oder Scham.
    Abstract: The film captures ordinary acts, which in the face of death become a ritual, and gives space to the subtle, nearly invisible gestures and movements, which make the suffering and insecurities more bearable: Caressing a cat, a handshake or a fleeting glance; pictures and moments in death and grief, which we avoid in every day life, feeling insecure, fearful or ashamed.
