    Abstract: Jazz in der DDR war vielfältig, subversiv und oft nonkonform. Besonders in Jazzklubs, die überall im Land verstärkt ab den 1970er Jahren ins Leben gerufen worden, manifestierten sich beständige Reibungspunkte zwischen Staat und jungen Jazzbegeisterten, die eigensinnig ihre Musik hören, aufführen und veranstalten wollten. Jazz galt für seine Anhängerinnen und Anhänger dabei als eine Art Lebensentwurf neben statt gegen den SED-Staat. Anhand einer breiten Regionalstudie der Jazzszenen im damaligen Thüringer Raum untersucht das Buch mittels Zugängen aus Biografieforschung, Kulturtransfer und Alltagsgeschichte soziale Kontexte, musikalische Aneignungsformen sowie kulturbehördliche Kontrollstrukturen und das vielfältige Vorgehen der Staatssicherheit gegen Jazzmusik und Akteure zur Zeit der DDR.

Für junge Menschen sind mit der Migration Umbrüche im Leben verbunden nicht zuletzt in Bezug auf ihre formale Bildungsbiografie. In diesem Buch werden Zusammenhänge zwischen Systemeffekten und der subjektiven Handlungsfähigkeit von Migrant*innen untersucht. Die Autorin rekonstruiert historisch, wie das Schulsystem seit der Gründung der Bundesrepublik auf die Anwesenheit von Migrant*innen reagiert und welche Auswirkungen diese Reaktionsweisen nach sich ziehen. Anhand narrativer Interviews zeichnet sie Bildungsbiografien von 21 Migrant*innen, die im Jugend- und jungen Erwachsenenalter nach Deutschland migriert sind, nach. Ihre Wege ins deutsche Schulsystem werden ebenso aufgezeigt wie die Barrieren, die den Zugang zum und Verbleib im formalen Bildungssystem in Deutschland erschweren. The IBM z14 Model ZR1 is estimated to provide up to 54% more total system capacity than the IBM z13s® Model N20. This IBM Redbooks® publication gives you a close-up view of the new IBM TS4500 tape library. In the TS4500, IBM delivers the density that today's and tomorrow's data growth requires. It has the cost-effectiveness and the manageability to grow with business data needs, while you preserve existing investments in IBM tape library products. Now, you can achieve both a low cost per terabyte (TB) and a high TB density per square foot, because the TS4500 can store up to 8.25 petabytes (PB) of uncompressed data in a single frame library or scale up at 1.5 PB per square foot to over 263 PB, which is more than 4 times the capacity of the IBM TS3500 tape library. The TS4500 offers these benefits: High availability dual active accessors with integrated service bays to reduce inactive service space by 40%. The Elastic Capacity option can be used to completely eliminate inactive service space.
