With a decidedly interdisciplinary approach, the volume brings together a wide range of critical reflections, practical perspectives and concrete applications of artificial intelligence in museums and offers an overview of the current state of the debate.

    Abstract: Wie lässt sich das ambivalente Verhältnis zwischen Menschenrechtspolitik und Erinnerungskulturen fassen? Ein Beispiel dafür, dass kollektive Erinnerung an vergangene Gewalt ihrerseits Menschenrechte verletzen und neue Gewalt hervorbringen kann, statt sie einzudämmen, ist Indien. Michael Gottlob verdeutlicht die geschichtspolitischen Strategien, die die Konfrontation zwischen der hindunationalistischen Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) und der säkularen Kongresspartei (INC) prägen. Es zeigt sich: Der Streit um den Umgang mit der indischen Geschichte reicht tief in die Selbstverständigungsprozesse der Inder*innen unter dem Kolonialismus zurück.

Die Beiträger_innen untersuchen von der Frühen Neuzeit bis zur Gegenwart Zählungen von Gefallenen oder Verstorbenen in kolonialen Kontexten, Unfallstatistiken, Todeslisten in der NS-Zeit, Suizide in der DDR sowie Todesfälle von Geflüchteten. Ihre Analysen fokussieren dabei die Hintergründe und Motivationen der Urheber_innen und liefern damit einen erhellenden Einblick in die Macht der Statistik

    Abstract: Das Verhältnis von Christentum und Kolonialismus ist vielschichtig und häufig undurchsichtig. Ohiniko M. Toffa entwickelt eine neue epistemische Lesart der deutschen Missions- und Kolonialgeschichte in Togo. Anhand der Missionskonzeption des Missionsinspektors Franz Michael Zahn wirft er einen diskursanalytischen Blick auf die unterschiedlichen Ordnungen, Entscheidungen und persönlichen Überlegungen. Ein besonderer Fokus liegt dabei auf den daraus abzuleitenden Werten und Normen. Diese Herangehensweise bringt eine neue Kolonialmoral hervor und liefert somit wichtige Anstöße für eine Dekolonialisierung des Wissens
