    Abstract: Das Positionsspiel Fuchs und Henne zwischen einem Bauern und einem Hirtenjungen endet nach 111 Zügen mit dem Sieg des Bauern. Gespielt wurde in der Hütte der Ragotzalm (St. Magdalena, Gsiestal).
    Abstract: The game "Fox and Hen", which requires the faculty of combinatorial thinking, is known in St. Magdalena (Gsies Valley) from time immemorial. The square board and the 22 wooden pieces are manufactured by the people themselves. Holes are made in the board so that the game may be played even in the open air, on an uneven ground.

    Abstract: The film shows a custom during carneval season which occurs quadrannually under participation of the male population of the village. It depicts the events the day before and the main day of performance that is thursday before carneval sunday. The performance takes place on the market square, on the streets, and in the courtbuilding.

    Abstract: Reiterprozession am sog. Blutfreitag (Freitag nach Christi Himmelfahrt): Flurumritt mit einer Heiligblut-Reliquie, an dem ca. 100 Reitergruppen mit über 2000 Reitern teilnehmen. Wesentliche Phasen des Brauchs: Ankunft der Reiter, Sammlung, Prozession durch die Stadt und die angrenzenden Felder, Wettersegen am Altar, Rückkehr in die Basilika.
    Abstract: The film is a comprehensive documentation of the so-called "blood riders" ceremonial procession which is held on the first friday of the Crist's Ascension. The film explains the meaning of the ceremony and describes all details: the preparation, the assembly of the horsemen, the procession around the fields when the holy-blood relic is carried along, prayer for favourable wheather and finally the return to the cathedral.

    Abstract: An den Vorabenden des Nikolaustages geht eine Gruppe bestehend aus dem hl. Nikolaus, einer zweiten Nikolausfigur, einer Figur mit Tierkopfmaske (dem Klausenbigger) und einer Figur in Fellgewand (dem Rubelz) von Haus zu Haus. Der hl. Nikolaus sagt einen Spruch auf, der Nikolausbegleiter beschenkt die Kinder und der Rubelz droht ihnen. Der Klausenbigger hat keine aktive Funktion.
    Abstract: On the eve of St. Nicholas day (December 6th) a group of mummed young men goes from house to house. The group consists of St. Nicholas, a second Nicholas figure, a figure with an animal mask (the Klausenbigger, which lent the custom its name), and a figure with fur clothing, the so-called Rubelz. In the individual houses parents and children await together the group's visit. Saint Nicholas utters a rhymed saying and then checks to see if the children have learned their prayers and songs. St. Nicholas' companion gives the children sweets, apples, and nuts and leave a switch behind. The Rubelz threatens to tie disobedient children onto his chain. During the visit the Klausenbigger has no active function. In the end, the four masked figures visit a restaurant.
