    Abstract: Am Vorabend des 13. Dezember kleiden sich zwei Frauen und ein Mädchen als Luzien an (2 schwarze und 1 weiße Luzia) und betreten eine Wohnstube, in der Kinder auf einer Eckbank sitzen. Die Luzien sagen einen Spruch auf und drohen den Kindern. Ihre Requisiten sind: Sichel und Wetzstein sowie ein Gefäß mit einem Holzlöffel.
    Abstract: In the area of Cham (Upper Palatinate) a bogy appears at the eve of Dec. 13th, the day of Saint Lucia, which is called "Luzia" or "Luzl". About the year 1930 this custom was still practised in the whole of north-east Bavaria especially by the farm workers. "Luzia" threatens to rip up the children's stomachs with her sickle and to fill them with bricks. Today this figure is widely rejected because of its negative effects on the children's minds.

In the village of Glekpleple one of these is an aged dancer with her 'rendevous' dance, which she performs on joyous occasions. A chorus of women accompanies her with vocal music and hand-clapping.

Before the mask appears, two groups of young musicians each with a dancer complete with each other. Following this, the mask dances and receives the sacrifice of a fowl.

    Abstract: The Goli is a mask performance of three or four different pairs of masks. The two masks of each pair try to surpass each other in dancing. The musicians accompany their songs with hot rhythms of the rattle-calabash. Although the young Baule learned the Goli from a neighbouring tribe, it became their most important mask performance.

    Abstract: Almost every village of the Baule cultivates an artistic speciality which is performed during festivities either in their own village or in other villages. To this category belong also acrobatic dances. Using difficult jumps, the young men dance, by turns, to the rhythms of three drums, one iron bell, one rattle-calabash and one "rub-rattle". Afterwards two solo-dancers appear.

    Abstract: Unter eine erregte Menschenmenge mischen sich Masken mit ihrem Gefolge. Sie zeigen die für sie jeweils charakteristischen Bewegungstypen. Einzelne Begleiter zeichnen sich durch Blatt- und Bastwedel sowie bestimmte Gesten und Tanzschritte aus. Abschließend tanzen und singen die Frauen des Dorfes.
    Abstract: At the end of the Yams festival, which for the northern Dan separates the old year from the new year, the masks leave the bush and come down from the mountains to the village. They dance outside the village and then move over the country to greet the government officials. On the way each mask shows for our team typical parts from their repertoire.

    Abstract: Mitglieder der tibetischen Tanz- und Theatergruppe aus Ebnat-Kappel (Schweiz) führen in Rikon ein Theaterstück, das die Vorgänge bei der Hochzeit der Nangsa mit dem Prinzen Dokpa Samdup wiedergibt, vor der Kamera auf.
    Abstract: Here we see several short theatralic scenes taken from the widespread cycle of life, death and reincarnation of Nangsa. The most important parts of the Tibetan wedding ritual are shown. Accompaniment is provided by an harmonica and a long-necked lute.
