Abstract:
"En el siglo que vivimos, la identidad postnacional debe entenderse como un nuevo vínculo del individuo con la nación. En ese sentido, la nación ya no cobra la misma importancia que en el pasado, integrándose ahora, por ejemplo, en otras dimensiones, comunitarias, geográficas, culturales y discursivas. ¿Cómo concebimos hoy, por lo tanto, la identidad cubana, determinada por innumerables desplazamientos y fluctuaciones, económicas, políticas, culturales y sociales? Identidad y postnacionalismo en la cultura cubana es, pues, una antología que invita a pensar el concepto de pertenencia en términos contemporáneos, bajo los prismas de la globalización, o los avances en las comunicaciones y los movimientos migratorios. Como resultado, ofrecemos aquí una recopilación de textos que abordan el complejo tema de la identidad cubana interpretada desde diversos contextos, con una visión global y postnacional que va más allá de las fronteras, abriéndose a una percepción actual y, como consecuencia, a universos temáticos y culturales afines a la realidad de nuestro tiempo." -- publisher's website
Abstract:
In the century we live in, post-national identity must be understood as a new link between the individual and the nation. In that sense, the nation no longer takes on the same importance as in the past, now integrating itself, for example, into other dimensions, community, geographic, cultural and discursive. How do we conceive today, therefore, the Cuban identity, determined by innumerable displacements and fluctuations, economic, political, cultural and social? Identity and post-nationalism in Cuban culture is, therefore, an anthology that invites us to think about the concept of belonging in contemporary terms, under the prisms of globalization, or advances in communications and migratory movements. As a result, we offer here a compilation of texts that address the complex issue of Cuban identity interpreted from different contexts, with a global and post-national vision that goes beyond borders, opening to a current perception and, as a consequence, to thematic universes and cultural related to the reality of our time
