Abstract:
Abstract:
For various activities, the Dan have groups of singers and musicians, whose playing is supposed to impart special qualities: strength for the bushclearers, majestic deportment for the chieftain, courage for the warrior. Here, an orchestra of seven elephant tusks and five drums incites the fighting-spirit of the village's greatest warrior, who, in dance form, demonstrates several battle situations.
