    Kurzfassung: Long dry grass is spread out across two bamboo stalks which are set up at some height; the grass is moistened. The labourer sits between the bamboo stalks, lays two beams before him on the grass, and takes a handful of grass-blades; he bends these blades in the middle and puts them around the beam on the right, binding them with a bamboo strip. The beam on the left is only used as support for the bent grass and is taken out when the mat is ready.

    Kurzfassung: The film shows several dances and games of the Akha girls. a) "Kasatscho": a row, singing, balancing of the knees, mincing-steps; b) "Sabumina": a row, singing, hopping with joint knees; c) "Selung-mo": round dance, a step to the side, twice balancing; d) Standing in a circle singing, rocking with the hips; e) standing in a circle, singing, clapping of the hands, bending of the knees and hips; f) "Amu-patsala" (hopping on one leg): hop-dancing on one leg with shanks hooked.

    Kurzfassung: Ein Mädchen aus Ban Alm stellt mit Hilfe eines Bambusbogens aus rotem Baumwollfaden und weißen Samenkernen (Cois lacryma jobi) eine an beiden Enden mit Quasten versehene Zierschnur her.
    Kurzfassung: Two threads with white seed pearls and two strings consisting of seven cotton threads each are strung on a bamboo bow in the manner of a warp. A red cotton thread is passed through the warp by hand. Thus a ribbon is made the edges of which are formed by the two rows of pearls. The end of the ribbon is finally decorated with a tassel of variously coloured cotton threads.

    Kurzfassung: Ein Mädchen aus dem Dorf Ban Alm bereitet das Garn zum Schären vor: Aufwickeln, Strangbildung, Schlichten mit Reismehlwasser, Trocknen. Nach dem Abwickeln des Garnes mit einer Kreuzhaspel werden sechs Schärpflöcke in die Erde geschlagen, und die Kette wird von zwei Frauen geschärt.
    Kurzfassung: Thread from a wholly spun spindle is wound into a ball. The thread from the ball runs through a hollow bamboo stick which is held in the hand; then it is wound into a skein with the help of a double-T-shaped handreel. The skein is taken off the reel, starched in a solution of rice flour, and then strung between two poles to dry. When the skein is dry it is put on a reel and the thread is unwound into a basket. Six thread-beams are knocked into the ground and two women fix the warp.

    Kurzfassung: Nachdem ein älterer Mann aus Ban Alm Bambusstreifen zubereitet hat, umflicht er zur Verstärkung einen bereits fertiggestellten Bambuskorb: den Boden und den oberen Teil des Korbes in randparalleler Flechttechnik und die untere Korbhälfte mit einem offenen Dreirichtungsgeflecht. Der Korbdeckel wird in Diagonalgeflecht hergestellt.
    Kurzfassung: A bamboo basket, which is already finished is given a plaited coat to strengthen it. The plaitings round the bottom and the upper half of the basket run parallel to the edges whereas that covering the lower half is an open three-directional plaiting. A diagonal plaiting technique is used to make the lid.

Die Arbeiten werden von einem Mädchen aus Ban Alm ausgeführt.
    Kurzfassung: The spinner holds a spinning roll in her left hand, fixes a few fibres into the hook of the spindle point and makes a short thread by rotating the spindle in her hand. After this, she rolls the spindle on her tigh and lets it rotate freely on the thread. She continually draws out fibres and twists them by means of the rotating spindle. When the thread is spun it is spun it is wound on the spindle.

    Kurzfassung: Ein Mädchen aus Ban Alm stellt aus weißen Hühnerfedern auf einem Bogen, der mit einer aus Zwirnsfaden bestehenden Doppelsehne bespannt ist, eine Schnur her. Die fertige Zierschnur wird rot gefärbt und an einem Ende mit einer mehrfarbigen Quaste aus Baumwollfäden versehen.
    Kurzfassung: Two cotton threads are strung on a bamboo bow, the lower part of a small chicken feather the quill of which has been cut off is stuck between the two threads. The feather is wound around both threads and the top of the feather is again stuck between the two threads. The feather which has thus been fixed to the threads is pushed aside with a needle. The finished cord is dyed red and gets a multicoloured tassel of cotton threads attached to one end.
