    Abstract: Im offenen Arbeitshaus in Amadahuna schabt ein Mann feine Bambusflechtstreifen, flicht helle und dunkle Streifen sehr dicht in dreibindiger Körpertechnik zu einer Korbschale in konzentrischen Quadraten von der Mitte aus fortschreitend zum Rand, den ein Lianenring abschließt. Die Muster zeigen geometrisch-stilisierte Figuren des mythischen Affen.
    Abstract: Among the Makiritare basketry is largerly made by the men, who especially make the beautifully patterned plates for serving up manioc flat cakes. These plates are the most important artificial products of this tribe. The film presents the making of such a Waha (guapa) by the three-strand twilling technique. The patterns represent animals in geometrical stylization and have a symbolic and mythologic meaning.

Frauen pflanzen Ananas- und Maniokschößlinge, bespucken den Boden, ernten Ananas und Bananen und pflücken Pfefferschoten.
    Abstract: After clearance by means of fire by the men, the new arable ground is tilled with the digging stick. The women set pieces of manioc twigs in the turned up soil; ananas and banana shoots are planted and their fruits, grown ripe, harvested by the women and carried home in baskets. The film also shows the weeding dine by the women, and the ritual aspect of cultivation is indicated by the appearance of a drummer.

    Abstract: Women set young manioc plants, harvest the full-grown tubers, and carry them to the village. There they rasp the tubers, put the mass into pressing bags and, by pulling the bags, free it from its sap containing hydrocyanic acid. From the resulting flour they then make on an iron plate over an unshielded fire big flat cakes and leave them in the sun to dry.

    Abstract: Tänzer und Tänzerinnen aus Amadahuna bemalen sich mit roter Farbe und schmücken sich. 13 Tänzer schreiten untergehakt in Reihen hintereinander rhythmisch im Kreis um den Dorfplatz. Ihre Instrumente sind Trommel, Bambusklarinetten, Rasselstab und eine endgeblasene, gedackte Spaltflöte.
    Abstract: Before the dance festival the participants paint with red vegetable dye patterns on each other's face and body. Preceded by two players on bamboo clarinets, the dancers move ranged in a line one behind the other round the central place of the village. They probably represent a herd of grunting wild boars trotting along; this dance, originally a ritual hunting-dance, is nowadays performed on diverse occasions.

In Kombination von Spiralwulsttechnik und direktem Formen bildet er einen Topf, glättet ihn mit einem runden Stein, färbt ihn mit Urucú rot und brennt ihn im Brennhaufen.
    Abstract: Among the Makiritare potter's work is done by men. The required clay is got in barter with neighbouring Indian groups. The applied method is a combination of coiling and direct modeling - the potter's wheel is unknown. The simple cooking vessel is baked in a short time in an unshielded fire.

    Abstract: Zwei Brüder aus Amadahuna schneiden ein Paar grüne Bambusrohre (etwa 1-1,5 m lang, mit 8-10 cm Durchmesser) mit einer Handbreite Längendifferenz zurecht, durchstoßen die unteren Knoten, durchbohren die oberen und setzen in diese als Mundstücke dünne Schilfrohre mit eingeschnittener Zunge ein. Sie blasen auf den fertigen Klarinetten ohne Grifflöcher.
    Abstract: Two Makiritare men cut two bamboo tubes, the one a handbredth longer than the other, push through the lower nodes, pierce the upper ones and fit into the aperture as a mouthpiece slips of cane with a reed cut out. Finally they play on the finished clarinets.

    Abstract: In Amadahuna stellt ein junger Mann aus zwei ineinandergeschobenen Röhren ein etwa 3 m langes Blasrohr her. Als Außenrohr dient ein ausgehöhltes und -geraspeltes Stämmchen einer Palme (Socrates exorrhiza), als Innenrohr ein Stengel eines knotenfreien Schilfs (Arundinaria schomburgkii). Ein Mundstück wird geschnitzt und angepicht, Pfeilspitzen mit Curare präpariert und am Pfeilende mit einer Kapokflaummanschette versehen. Kurze Jagdszene mit Blasrohr.
    Abstract: The film presents the making of a blowgun typical of the Indians of Guiana of two tubes fitted into each other, blowgun of which the Makiritare have a certain monopoly. The film then shows the poisoning of the blowgun darts with curare got in barter with the Piaroa Indians, and finally the blowgun being used.

    Abstract: An Ica-man cuts the leaves of a big agave-plant and scrapes them on a wooden block with a huge paddle-like stick to free the fibers of their green outer covering. Then he washes the fibers and hangs them over the wall of the village to dry. Later two women take the fibers and twist them slightly together by hand, forming a long continuous yarn, which they twine and ply afterwards with the help of a special instrument called carrumba.

    Abstract: At a dama for several deceased persons mock fights are performed in front of the dead persons' houses by single and whole groups of men. The guests of the ceremony dance on the roof terraces, sacrifice goats and cotton ribbons; at night the women dance before the doors of the death houses in honour of the deceased.
