    Abstract: Gottheiten des buddhistischen Pantheons, vor allem Vajrabhairava, unter dessen besonderem Segen die Zeremonie steht, sowie sämtliche Buddhas mit ihrem Gefolge werden eingeladen, sich aus ihrer jeweiligen Sphäre an den Ort der Zeremonie zu begeben. Dort sollen sie den Gläubigen als Objekt für Opfer und Verehrung dienen. Diese zweite Zeremonie findet im Kultraum statt.
    Abstract: Deities of the Buddhistic Pantheons, above all Vajrabhairava under whose special blessing this ceremony stands, as well as all Buddhas with their followers ar invited to come from their respective spheres to the location of the ceremonies. They are to serve as object for offering and reverence for the faithful there. This second ceremony takes place in the cult room.

    Abstract: Nach der Segnung der "Acht Glücksdinge" wird ein Lobpreis auf die Schutzgottheit Mahakala gesungen. Es schließt sich das Danksagungsopfer, durch welches der Gottheit Vajrabhairava für den durch die Weihe bewirkten Segen gedankt wird, an. Dann wird sie verabschiedet und in ihre Sphäre entlassen.
    Abstract: Subsequent to the blessing of the "Eight Good Things", praise of the protective deity Mahakala is sung. The offering of thanksgiving follows, through it the deity Vajrabhairava is thanked for the blessing effected by the consecration. Then she is bid farewell and released to her sphere.

    Abstract: Das Brandopfer dient der Befriedung, der Beseitigung aller Kräfte, die dem Kloster und den Gläubigen Schaden zufügen. Diese Dämonen werden dadurch gnädig gestimmt, daß man dem Feuergott flüssige Butter, die der Abt in die Flammen gießt, und durch zwölf verschiedene Substanzen ein Opfer darbringt. Dieses Brandopfer wird vor dem Kloster im Freien vollzogen.
    Abstract: The burnt offering serves to pacify and eliminate all forces which harm the monastery and the faithful. These demons feel merciful because an offering has been made by giving the fire god melted butter and twelve different substances, which the abbot pours into the flames. This burnt offering is performed outside in front of the monastery

    Abstract: With the help of his companions a man prepares the snuff-drug yopo (epena) while they comment on our equipment. Afterwards the men, who all are already healers (sapori), blow the drug into each other's nostrils. They get into trance, sing, dance, and comment their visions. Amongst others they describe the appearance of ghosts to their companions, who in turn comment on it.

Two men in front of this row act out to this rhythm a number of figures which imitate amongst others the sexual behavior of antelopes. Finally one of the dancers jumps over the other and returns to the queue and another one replaces him. The one that did not jump may stay or be replaced.

    Abstract: The highest-ranking healer (sapori) Yoresiyawe blows the sniffing drug yopo into the nostrils of two men. Then he takes the drug himself and achieves trance. With the help of other healers he instructs first a man who is already healer, and later another one who is not yet initiated. Chanting and dancing the healers carry the spirits and insert them with much pantomimic gesture into the bodies of their pupils. The healers verbalize their experience and visions and engage on dialogues with others.

    Abstract: Zwei Zauberheiler pflanzen pantomimisch einem Dritten Geister ein, den sie im Drogenrausch umtanzen. Anschließend erfolgt eine Krankenheilung und ein Probe-Hekuramou.
    Abstract: Two men, Yoresiyawe the highest-ranking healer (sapori) and Kasiwe implant spirits into a man named Uraewe, who is already healer, but who wants to achieve perfection. The healers approach Uraewe dancing and singing, carrying the spirits with them and implanting them with pantomimic gestures. After this a man from another village, Kosisiwe, who is aspirant healer, undergoes a similar treatment and instruction. This time Yoresiyawe is assisted by the headman. Finally the aspirant dances a rehearsal hekuramou, watched by the other healers of the village who comment and encourage his performance.

    Abstract: Die bunt geschmückten Partner sitzen paarweise nebeneinander in einer Hütte; im Hintergrund singen Männer Liebeslieder. Zu Beginn der etwa 5 Minuten dauernden Tänze wiegt der Werbende Oberkörper und Kopf. Dann wendet er sich seiner Partnerin zu, die sich ebenfalls zu wiegen beginnt. Es kommt zu Stirn- und Nasenreiben. Nach zweimaligem Nasenreiben verbeugen sich die Tanzpartner tief parallel zueinander, dann reiben sie wieder zweimal ihre Nasen und so fort in stetem Rhythmus, der nicht von der Musik bestimmt wird.
    Abstract: The courtship dance of the Medlpa contains a stylized nose rubbing and contact of the cheeks. The participants, richly adorned, are sitting in couples side by side in a hut, in the background men are singing love-songs. At the beginning of the dances, which each have a length of about 5 minutes, the man sways his upper body and his head, then he turns to his female partner who also starts to sway. Forehead and nose rubbing take place. Afte a second nose rubbing the partners make a deep bow towards each other, then they rub their noses twice again, and so forth, in a steady rhythm not determined by the music.

    Abstract: Vollständige Einweihungszeremonie durch Mönche der Gelugpa-Sekte unter Führung von Ling Rinpoche und Trijang Rinpoche. Die gesungenen Partien des fünfteiligen Rituals (Segnung des Platzes, Einladung an das "Dreifache Juwel", Reinigungsopfer, Siebenopfer, gemeinsames Gebet) werden von Becken, Trommeln, Zimbeln und Handglocken begleitet.
    Abstract: The film shows the complete consecration ceremony of the Tibetan Monastic Institute Rikon by monks of the Gelugpa sect, conducted by the two spiritual teachers of the Dalai Lama, LING RINPOCHE and TRIJANG RINPOCHE. The sung parts of the liturgy are accompanied by cymbals, drum, timbals and handbells.

The ceremony is conducted by LING RINPOCHE in the presence of TRIJANG RINPOCHE, the two spiritual teachers of the Dalai Lama, through whom the documentary takes on historical significance.

    Abstract: Here we see several short theatralic scenes taken from the widespread cycle of life, death and reincarnation of Nangsa. The most important parts of the Tibetan wedding ritual are shown. Accompaniment is provided by an harmonica and a long-necked lute.
