    Abstract: Ein Landwirt und Fischer fährt in einem flachen Segelboot mit seinen Söhnen zum Algenfischen aus. Zwei der Männer fischen mit langstieligen, breiten Holzharken Wasserpflanzen, der dritte stakt das Boot. Die Bootsladung wird am eigenen Kai abgeladen und mit einem Ochsenkarren auf die Felder gefahren, wo sie als Dünger Verwendung findet.
    Abstract: A peasant and fisherman goes with his sons in his shallow sailing boat to fish algae. Two of the men collect with long-handled, broad wooden rakes water plants, the third propels the boat with a pole. The boat is unloaded at the peasant's private pier, then the algae are transported by an ox-cart to the fields, where they are used as manure.

    Abstract: Das 16,5 m lange Boot wird von Ochsengespannen ins Wasser gezogen und von der Bootsmannschaft über die Brandung gerudert. Das Zugnetz, bestehend aus einem Endsack (88 m) mit der Öffnung in Zugrichtung, zwei Flügeln je 500 m lang und zwei Haltetauen je 2,5 km lang, wird in Halbkreisform ins Wasser gesenkt und anschließend von Ochsengespannen an beiden Enden der Haltetaue an Land gezogen. Dort werden die Fische aus dem Sack geholt und in Körbe gefüllt. An dieser Gemeinschaftsarbeit nehmen 60 Männer und Frauen an See und am Land teil.
    Abstract: Fishing with the large drag net is a collective work, carried out by 60 men and women at sea and ashore. The boat, 16.5 m long, is drawn into the water by oxen and then rowed across the surf by the crew. The drag net, consisting of a large bag (88 m) with an opening at the upper end, two wings each 500 m long and two ropes each 2.5 km long, is put down into the water in a demi-circle and then drawn ashore by oxen put to the two ropes. The fish are taken out of the bag and put in baskets.

    Abstract: Verschiedene Arbeitsabläufe der Tangfischerei bei Niedrigwasser. Gefischt wird zu Fuß am Strand oder im Wasser mit einem Netzsack, der an einen Holzreifen mit Stiel angeknüpft ist (Frauen), sowie von Booten aus mit Rechen und Bootshaken (Männer). Der gesammelte Seetang wird entweder auf Tragen oder mit Ochsenkarren zum Trockenplatz geschafft.
    Abstract: The film shows the fishing of sea tang, carried on at low water, when the rocks stand up out of the water and boats and rafts may easily pass. The women fish on foot on the beach or in the water, the men from boats. The collected sea tang is carried to the drying-ground with hand-barrows or with ox-carts.

    Abstract: Gefischt wird in einem Altwasser mit einer Gerätekombination aus Zugnetz und Garnreuse. Die Absperrung erfolgt mit einem sacklosen Zugnetz, das bis auf den Grund reicht und mit Hilfe von Pfählen quer durch das Gewässer gespannt wird. Der eigentliche Fischfang erfolgt durch eine großdimensionierte Garnreuse, die an einer Öffnung seitlich im Netz angebracht ist. Diese Fangmethode zählt zu den Abschließungsfischereien.
    Abstract: The film presents the preparation and carrying-out of fishing in an old branch of the Rhine near Weisweil with a combination of fishing-gears consisting of a drag-net and a weel. This method of catching fish belongs to the techniques of fishing by means of a barrage. Today it is no longer in use in the filmed region. The barrage is done by putting up across the river a drag-net without a bag reaching down to the bottom and attached to stakes. The actual catching is done by a weel of great dimensions placed behind an opening in the centre of the net.

    Abstract: Am Tage des hl. Leonhard (6. Nov.) ziehen Wagen, Reiter und kleine Gruppen zu Fuß von Murnau nach der Leonhardskirche Froschhausen, wo eine Feldmesse abgehalten wird. Danach versammeln sich die Teilnehmer vor der Gastwirtschaft; hier treten auch die Goaßlschnalzer mit ihren langen Peitschen in Aktion.
    Abstract: Since 1927 the St. Leonard's pilgrimage in Murnau has taken place, and it is arranged after the known pilgrimage of Bad Tölz. On the day of St. Leonard (6th November) people on carriages, on horses and others walking in small groups are moving from Murnau to the nerby church St. Leonard in Froschhausen where a camp-service is celebrated on a meadow near the church. After the mass the participants meet in front of the only inn of the village and there perform the so-called Goaßlschnalzer (men with long whips).

    Abstract: In einen Nebenarm des Rheins rudert der Fischer sein Boot im Stehen zum Fangplatz. Dort stellt er eine selbstgefertigte Perlonreuse ins Wasser und befestigt sie mit zwei Holzstäben so, daß das Netz sich spannt und seine Eingänge sich öffnen. Dann tarnt er sie mit Schilf. Am zweiten Platz entleert er eine Flügelreuse und macht sie nachher wieder fangfertig, bevor er zur Landestelle zurückfährt.
    Abstract: A fisherman rows his boat in a standing position into a side arm of the Rhine to the catching-place. There he sets a home-made nylon fish trap and fastens it with two wooden rods so that the net tightens and the entrances open. For camouflage he covers it with reed. At a second catching-place he he empties a winged fish trap and prepares it for the next catch. Then he returns to the landing-place.

Beim Klammwirt (St. Peter) werden den Kühen Glocken umgehängt, und der Leitkuh wird ein Kranz auf den Kopf gebunden. Am Nachmittag des zweiten Tages treffen die Herden auf den heimatlichen Höfen ein. Abends laden dann die Hofleute Freunde und Nachbarn zum "Kühkemma" ein.
    Abstract: Route of the herds: Windbachtal, Krimmler Tauern (2634 m), Ahrntal. Overnight stay at Prettau. Cowbells are put on and the leading cow is decorated with a crown. In the afternoon of the second day the herds arrive at the farms. In the evening the farmers invite their friends and neighbours.

    Abstract: Heu, das aus einer verschneiten Blockhütte herausgezogen wurde, wird gebündelt, auf Farkel verladen und mit Hilfe von losen Kufen zum Waldrand gezogen. Am Steilhang werden die Kufen herausgezogen, um eine Bremswirkung zu erreichen. Unten angekommen, wird das Heu auf Schlitten umgeladen und zum Hof gebracht.
    Abstract: Farmers move to an Alpine pasture to get hay from a block hut. On arrival there the hut is opened. They hay is being bundles and dragged on a Farkel (sort of wooden sledge) to the end of the forest. For the transport movable skids are important. Downwards steep slopes the hay bundles must be braked. Where the slopes are less steep skids are used to reduce the braking effect. At the end of the forest the hay is loaded onto bigger sledges and taken to the farmerhouse.

    Abstract: Der Unterlacher-Bauer Vitus Marcher sen. in St. Jakob (Ahrntal) stellt in der Stube seines Hauses einen Tragkorb her: in ein schmales Bodenbrett werden Stöcke eingesetzt, die nach oben hin ausladend mit den gespaltenen Flechtstreifen aus Zirbelkieferholz eingeflochten werden. Die Traggurte werden aus Birkenruten gedreht.
    Abstract: Making of a pannier in the parlour of the Unterlacher-Hof at ST. Jakob (Ahrntal). The pannier consists of a narrow wooden base into which the canes are fitted, which then spread out towards the top and are woven into the split strips of wicker made of stone pine (Pinus cembra L.).
