Abstract:
Gefischt wird in einem Altwasser mit einer Gerätekombination aus Zugnetz und Garnreuse. Die Absperrung erfolgt mit einem sacklosen Zugnetz, das bis auf den Grund reicht und mit Hilfe von Pfählen quer durch das Gewässer gespannt wird. Der eigentliche Fischfang erfolgt durch eine großdimensionierte Garnreuse, die an einer Öffnung seitlich im Netz angebracht ist. Diese Fangmethode zählt zu den Abschließungsfischereien.
Abstract:
The film presents the preparation and carrying-out of fishing in an old branch of the Rhine near Weisweil with a combination of fishing-gears consisting of a drag-net and a weel. This method of catching fish belongs to the techniques of fishing by means of a barrage. Today it is no longer in use in the filmed region. The barrage is done by putting up across the river a drag-net without a bag reaching down to the bottom and attached to stakes. The actual catching is done by a weel of great dimensions placed behind an opening in the centre of the net.
