Abstract:
In Fada fertigt der Lederarbeiter Brahim, ein Korobat-Araber, eine Dolchscheide aus Ziegenleder: Einfärben von Lederstreifen mit schwarzer, roter und gelber Farbe, Zuschneiden von Versteifungen aus Pappe, Aufkleben des Leders auf die Pappteile und Vernähen, Anbringen einer Schlaufe für den Oberarmring, Verkleiden des Dolchgriffes mit Leder, Drillen und Anbringen eines Oberarmringes aus Lederstreifen.
Abstract:
Brahim, the artisan dies strips of goat's leather in black, red and yellow colour. The stiffening for the sheath are cut out of cardboard and wound with red leather. The leather ist stuck with glue onto cardboard pieces. Onto the red leather pieces of black leather are stuck, stitched on at the back and the seam covered by a dress-seam wich ends by a dress-knot. Likewise at the back, a loop is fixed on as an upper-arm ring. The dagger's handle, enfaced by bound material pieces, Brahim covers with red leather. In the form of drilling, Brahim turns the upper-arm ring out of thin leather strips and to complete it, pulls it through the intended loop of the dagger sheath.
