    Abstract: Ausschnitte aus dem letzten Teil einer dreiteiligen gemeinsamen Totengedenkfeier, die alljährlich zwischen Ostern und Ende Oktober stattfindet. Der abschließende Teil wird am 24. und 25. Oktober mit Festessen und Maskenumzug begangen.
    Abstract: The film shows sequences of the commemorative festivities in Desa, the last part of a Rumanian national custom carried out in three parts. At Easter it begins with the offering of the sarindar and in September the second part, a water ceremony, takes place. The commemorative festivities end on the 24th and 25th October with a banquet and a mask procession.

    Abstract: Maibäume werden vor allem in Oberbayern errichtet, meist weiß-blau (den bayerischen Landesfarben) bemalt und mit Figurengruppen, Handwerkerzeichen usw. geschmückt. Der Film zeigt, wie der Maibaum in Oderding bei Weilheim mit einem Pferdefuhrwerk zur Gastwirtschaft des Ortes gefahren und dort von einer Gruppe jüngerer Männer aufgestellt wird. Der Film dokumentiert nicht nur den Vorgang des Aufstellens, sondern versucht auch Begleiterscheinungen (spielende Kinder, Blaskapelle usw.) zu zeigen, um die Atmosphäre, in der dieser Brauch abläuft, zu skizzieren. Während Maibäume in den Nachbargemeinden seit vielen Jahren errichtet werden, wurde der erste Maibaum in Oderding im Jahre 1965 aufgestellt.
    Abstract: It is mainly in Upper-Bavaria that maypoles are erected. They are mostly painted in white and blue (the regional colours of Bavaria) and decorated with figures and the signs of the various guilds etc. The film shows how the maypole is transported by a horse-pulled trailer to the local inn of Oderding near Weilheim and there erected by a group of young men. Particularly included are the accompanying activities such as playing children, brassband etc. to demonstrate the peculiar atmosphere. While maypoles have been erected in the surrounding communities for many years, the first maypole in Oderding was seen in 1965.
