Abstract:
Am Morgen des zweiten Sonntags im Mai reiten die Teilnehmer, die eine Reliquie des hl. Gangolf mit sich führen, in feierlicher Prozession zur Gangolfskapelle. Dort erfolgt durch Geistliche die Weihe der Gangolfsquelle und der Pferde. Gegen Krankheiten reiben sich die Menschen mit Wasser ein oder trinken es.
Abstract:
At Neudenau on the Jagst, on St. Gangolf's day in May, horses are decorated and ridden in a solemn procession at St. Gangolf's chapel outside the town. A relic of St. Gangolf is carried too in the procession. At the chapel clergymen bless the source of St. Gangolf, then the slowly passing horses. In illness the water of the source is also used by men: they rub their body with it and drink it.
