Abstract: Deploys recent philosophical scholarship on feminist epistemology as an interpretive lensDevelops recent feminist epistemological views as a literary-critical theory for the interpretation of classical sourcesExplores how identities intersect with constructions of epistemic concepts (e.g., knowledge, belief, rationality, objectivity, testimony, evidence) in Greco-Roman antiquityContributes to reinterpreting and recovering underrepresented voices and ideas in classical sources and their interpretationThis volume deploys recent feminist epistemological frameworks to analyze how concepts like knowledge, authority, rationality, objectivity and testimony were constructed in Greece and Rome. The introduction serves as a field guide to feminist epistemological interpretations of classical sources, and the following sixteen chapters treat a variety of genres and time periods, from Greek poetry, tragedy, philosophy, oratory, historiography and material culture to Roman comedy, epic, oratory, letters, law and their reception. By using an intersectional approach to demonstrate how epistemic systems exclude and pathologize the experiences of ancient women and other oppressed groups, these contributions aid in the recovery of non-dominant narratives and reveal issues of sex, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual identity, religion, age, class, familial status and citizenship in the ancient and modern world. The volume contributes to a more inclusive and equitable study of classical antiquity and builds transhistorical connections capable of exposing similar injustices in our own time

Abstract: "This book examines various gender-based power politics in the Indian society. It studies gender intersectionality and feminism as a socio-political philosophy by understanding how power structures deeply rooted in and are supported by our patriarchal societies. A comprehensive and interdisciplinary study on women's issues in India, the volume, adopts an intersectional feminist lens to critically analyze identity formation, gender socialization, gender stereotyping and discrimination; discusses various interdisciplinary perspectives of feminism, including liberal and post-modern feminism, eco-feminism, and Dalit feminism, examines the concept and origin of patriarchy, alongside theories on masculinity while focusing heterogeneous male members and the hegemonic masculinity; investigates issues related to violence against gender and adequate implementation of law and rehabilitation policies in India; sheds light on women's labor and participation in the organized, service and unorganized sectors of work within India. This book will be of interest and use to students, teachers, scholars of women's and gender studies, intersectional feminism, sexuality studies, identity politics, political sociology at both undergraduate and post graduate levels"--

Abstract: Of all structural or material remains from later British prehistory, roundhouses are probably the most archetypical, with a great range of regional variants in terms of ground plans and structural materials used. This study rethinks the archaeology of roundhouses, based on the latest development-led research excavation.

Abstract: In the U.S. the eugenic alarm grew in the first three decades of the twentieth century leading to sterilization, institutionalization and other laws to restrict procreation, especially among persons with certain disabilities. This period also marked the beginning of the social work profession; and many social workers struggled with coming to grips with eugenics as a possible means of improving society. These historical issues have evolved in many ways, but the continued inter-relationship between the social work profession and persons with disabilities has particular importance during an era marked by continued genetic innovations and controversies.

Abstract: Transnational Coupling in the Age of Nation Making during the 19th and 20th Centuries examines and compares courtship and marriage patterns that occurred between France and the United States during the 19th and 20th centuries. Departing from state-centered studies of marriage law, it draws on the methodologies of transnational history, cultural history and the history of emotion to show that these unions were part of a broader pattern of the larger cultural love affair between the two societies.

Abstract: To bring awareness to the revolutionary international impact of #MeToo, Iqra Shagufta Cheema brings together contributions from scholars and scholar activists that look at specific iterations of the #MeToo movement across multiple communities, cultures, and countries in the global south. Going beyond gender, the book considers the intersectional assemblage of location, history, religion, ethnicity, race, class, and neoliberal globalization that inform #MeToo and its place in local and transnational feminisms. By doing so, The Other #MeToos highlights the adaptation, translation, and impact of #MeToo in non-Western, postcolonial, minoritized, and othered locales to explore its wider scope and possibilities.

Abstract: In The Retirement Challenge, influential former White House economists Martin Neil Baily and Benjamin H. Harris explore America's outdated retirement system and explain how improving retirement requires changes by families, employers, and policymakers alike. The central premise of the book is that the only plausible path to success is to build on the current system, with improvements to both public programs, retirement saving accounts, and private insurance markets.

Abstract: In the current era, the ongoing challenge of race and ethnic relations and growing white supremacy reminds us that the centrality of racism needs considerable attention and has us profoundly questioning the structure and functioning of institutional practices. In Social Work and the Grand Challenge of Ending Racism, the authors argue that racism has been somewhat short shifted as an avenue of inquiry to help explain social problems and social welfare outcomes within the social work profession, and within the greater society. This book promotes innovative ways of preventing or interrupting racism and to stress the development and proliferation of antiracism practices as a method of reducing racialized outcomes in society.

Abstract: This book complements and deepens Uriel G. Foa's and Edna B. Foa's 1974 presentations of resource theory of social exchange by expanding on the original roots and subsequent refinements and developments of Social Resource Theory (SRT). With its contemporary overview of the theoretical extensions of social resource theory and related empirical research, Social Behavior as Resource Exchange offers far-reaching societal implications for most behavioral and social science disciplines.
