    Abstract: Critical and radical perspectives have been central to the emergence of the sociology of sport as a discipline in its own right. Das Studium des Lehramts mit den Fächern Englisch, Sport und Pädagogik schloss er im Herbst 2010 erfolgreich ab. Während des Studiums sammelte er Erfahrungen im Umgang mit Kindern, sowohl in der Schule als auch als Verkehrssicherheitstrainer, und engagierte sich in einem Verein zur Förderung der Integration Behinderter. Um sich kulturell und sprachlich weiterzubilden, arbeitete er von März bis August 2009 auf Bauernhöfen in England. Nach dem Studium erfolgte ein Aufenthalt auf Zypern, wo (traditionelle) Kulturtechniken und Aspekte des Naturschutzes im Vordergrund standen. Seine Affinität zur Weiterentwicklung motorischer Fähigkeiten in allen Lebensbereichen brachte ihn praktisch bereits zu Beginn des Studiums zum Parkour; die theoretisch-soziologische Auseinandersetzung mit diesem Thema war, ob der Lehre der Bewegungs- und Sportwissenschaften in Marburg, eine mehr als schlüssige Konsequenz.

Im Rahmen der Erziehungswissenschaft entstanden etwa Arbeiten zu männlicher Sozialisation, zu entgrenzter Männlichkeit und zu Vaterschaft. Prominente Dopingfälle und eine Typologie der verschiedenen Maßnahmen gegen dopende Sportler bilden den Einstieg in das Thema. Die verschiedenen in Betracht kommenden Rechtsgrundlagen der Dopingsanktion im Vereins-, Vertrags- und Arbeitsrecht werden hergeleitet und vorgestellt. Es folgt eine Untersuchung der rechtlichen Kontrollmaßstäbe für Dopingsanktionen. Da bei einer Dopingsanktion auf beiden Seiten Grundrechte betroffen sind, sind verfassungsrechtliche Rahmenbedingungen zu beachten. Dies wirkt sich auf die Anwendung der zivilrechtlichen Kontrollnormen aus. Das Verhältnismäßigkeitsprinzip kann die Rechte der Beteiligten ausgleichen. Dabei lassen sich Elemente, die aus dem Strafprozeß bekannt sind, zivilrechtlich anwenden.     Abstract: Immigrant Stories portrays the contexts and academic trajectories of development of three unique immigrant groups: Cambodian, Dominican and Portuguese. The children of immigrant families - or second generation youth - are the fastest growing population of school children in the US. However, very little is known about these children's academic and psychological development during middle childhood. We examine the previously under-explored intricacies of children's emerging cultural attitudes and identities, academic engagement, and academic achievement. These processes are studied alongside a myriad of factors in the family and school environment that combine to shape children's academic psychological functioning during this important period. Through a three-year longitudinal study, including interviews with teachers, parents and children, this book presents a fascinating look at the community, school, and family contexts of child development among second-generation children. Both pre-immigration and post-immigration characteristics are explored as critical factors for understanding children of immigrants' development. In the current climate of US immigration policy debate, we offer research findings that may inform educators and administrators about the sources of community strengths and challenges facing our newest immigrant generations.

The African American sports experience represented the continuation of the ideas of Black Nationalism--racial solidarity, black empowerment, and a determination to fight against white racism. Three of the essayists discuss the protest at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City. In football, baseball, basketball, boxing, and track and field, African American athletes moved toward a position of group strength, establishing their own values and simultaneously rejecting the cultural norms of whites. Among Latinos, athletic achievement inspired community celebrations and became a way to express pride in ethnic and religious heritages as well as a diversion from the work week. Sports was a means by which leadership and survival tactics were developed and used in the political arena and in the fight for justice.Michael E.     Abstract: Wir leben längst in einer Gesellschaft, die durch Mobilität, Vielfalt und globale Vernetzung geprägt ist. Es gibt gegenwärtig vielfache Möglichkeiten, sich individuell zu arrangieren. Angesichts dieser Diversität ist mancher versucht, überkommende Zuordnungen zu beschwören und erlebte Mobilität, eingeübte Vielfalt und alltägliche Vernetzungen wieder aufzulösen. Auch wenn diese 'Aufräumversuche' vergeblich sind, sie richten viel Schaden an. Ein plastisches Beispiel hierfür ist die Rede von der 'Parallelgesellschaft': sie dividiert auseinander, was längst vermischt ist und appelliert an eine fiktive Eindeutigkeit. Es ist Zeit, die Diskussion zu versachlichen.
