    Kurzfassung: Anlaß der in den Filmen E 2201 und E 2202 wiedergegebenen Zeremonie war der erste Europa-Besuch des Dalai Lama am 9. Oktober 1973 in Rikon/Schweiz. Die Gläubigen bitten den Dalai Lama "fest zu verweilen", d. h. lange zu leben und sich auch nach seiner gegenwärtigen Existenz immer wieder neu zu verkörpern, bis alle Lebewesen vom Leid erlöst sind.
    Kurzfassung: The film, composed of two parts (E 2201 and E 2202), presents the greater part of a ceremony held on 9th October 1973 in a big camp at Rikon (Switzerland) on the occasion of the Dalai Lama's first visit to Europe. At this ceremony hundreds of faithful entreat "perpetual presence" of the Dalai Lama, i. e. that he may live long and return to our world, after the extinction of his actual existence, in successive incarnations, until all beings are delivered from suffering.

    Kurzfassung: Die Roggengarben werden auf der im Freien gelegenen Tenne ausgebreitet und in Nachbarschaftshilfe mit Flegeln gedroschen. Die zwei Dreschgruppen bestehen jeweils aus fünf Männern, die jeweils in zwei Reihen dicht hintereinander arbeiten. Gemeinsame Mahlzeit als Gegengabe für die Arbeit. Das Auffinden einer mit Stroh ausgestopften Schafhaut leitet eine zeremonielle Brauchhandlung ein: Trauerzugparodie, Verbrennen der Schafhaut, Tanz.
    Kurzfassung: The sheaves spread out are treshed with flails. The threshers are working in teams of five persons arranged in two lines close to each other. The discovery of a stuffed sheepskin is the beginning of a ceremonial threshing custom. After nightfall the sheepskin is burnt in the open air.

    Kurzfassung: Die "Historische Gesellschaft Lazarus Strohmanus Jülich" (Generalversammlung und Vorbereitung am Fastnachtssonntag) führt im Rahmen eines öffentlichen Schaubrauches alljährlich am Fastnachtsdienstag das Aufwerfen einer Strohfigur vor: Umzug durch die Stadt, Aufwerfen, Einzug in die Wirtschaften, Ausstellung des Lazarus vor dem Rathaus und Schlüsselübergabe. Am Schluß wird die entkleidete Strohfigur in die Ruhr geworfen.
    Kurzfassung: Every year on Shrove Tuesday the "Historische Gesellschaft Lazarus Strohmanus Jülich" (Historic Society Lazarus Strohmanus Jülich) performs in public the custom of throwing up a straw figure. The film presents in chronological order the general meeting of the performers and supporters of this custom (with "national song", commemoration of the dead, conferring of medals and swearing), the preparations for the performance (studying of the reprimanding verses, making of the brooms), and the principal phases of the performance: procession across the town, throwing up of the straw figure, entry into the inns, exhibition of the "Lazarus" in front of the town hall, and delivery of the keys of the town. Finally the undressed straw figure is thrown into Rur.
