    Abstract: Anlaß der in den Filmen E 2201 und E 2202 wiedergegebenen Zeremonie war der erste Europa-Besuch des Dalai Lama am 9. Oktober 1973 in Rikon/Schweiz. Die Gläubigen bitten den Dalai Lama "fest zu verweilen", d. h. lange zu leben und sich auch nach seiner gegenwärtigen Existenz immer wieder neu zu verkörpern, bis alle Lebewesen vom Leid erlöst sind.
    Abstract: The film, composed of two parts (E 2201 and E 2202), presents the greater part of a ceremony held on 9th October 1973 in a big camp at Rikon (Switzerland) on the occasion of the Dalai Lama's first visit to Europe. At this ceremony hundreds of faithful entreat "perpetual presence" of the Dalai Lama, i. e. that he may live long and return to our world, after the extinction of his actual existence, in successive incarnations, until all beings are delivered from suffering.

Er schlägt mit einem Trommelstecken nach den Zuschauern, besonders, wenn sie Furcht zeigen. 3. Wortloses pentatonisches Lied nach weiblicher Art und Trommelrhythmus. 4. Gespielte Divination.
    Abstract: First the performer enters the room diguised as a woman with a child in his pouch and another one growing in his body. He asks the people to offer him a gift. In the next scene the actor is in possession of a drum stick. He pretends to strike the bystanders. If anybody shows signs of fear, he will immediately hurt him. Then the performer sings a song without words which belongs to the female repertoire. The concluding part is a mocking divination act.

    Abstract: Im ersten Gesang trommelt eine Frau in dem für die Frauen typischen Rhythmus und bewegt die Trommel dabei von der Brust vor und zurück. Der Chor singt dazu eine pentatonische Vierer-Tonfolge. Zwei festlich gekleidete Frauen stellen im zweiten Gesang einen vom Chor begleiteten Trommelstreitgesang, ähnlich dem der Männer, dar, nur im Frauenrhythmus.
    Abstract: The first of the two songs shows the playing of the drum in the usual feminine way, moving it regularly to and from the chest in accordance with the rhythm. The melody is performed by the chorus of the bystanders. The second is a drum fight song, it follows the same rules as the male ones, with the exception of the female rhythm. Both women wear their finest clothes which in the old days were used for festive occasions.

    Abstract: In the first song, the performer is acting as a man who has killed one of his fellow. He has changed his voice by placing a little stick in his mouth. He is afraid that the spirit of the dead will be looking for him and eventually obtain his revenge in assassinating the murderer himself. In the second song the singer relates that he has become aware of a plan to kill him. He challenges his opponent to a song contest in order to prevent the plan.

    Abstract: Jeder Buschmann stimmt das Lamellophon eines anderen nach, wenn er damit spielen soll. Die Zungen werden verschoben, herausgezogen, hineingesteckt und zur Erhöhung ihrer Spannung nachgebogen. Kontrolle durch Gehörproben.
    Abstract: Because no Bushman is satisfied with the tuning and arrangement of the lamelli of another man's dongo, much time is taken up in this task. This is done by pulling out, pushing in, rearranging the lamelli or altering their tension by bending them. The film shows this procedure and gives the achieved tone.
