    Abstract: Le economiche webcam stanno rivoluzionando l’imaging astronomico amatoriale, fornendo un’alternativa conveniente ai CCD raffreddati, quanto meno per i soggetti più luminosi. Le webcam, che costano solo poche decine di euro, sono in grado di realizzare riprese di più alta risoluzione rispetto alle macchine fotografiche digitali grazie alla maggiore velocità di scaricamento dell’immagine che "congela" i dettagli planetari, nonostante il disturbo della turbolenta atmosfera terrestre. La loro struttura è piuttosto semplice, ed è facile rimuovere la lente frontale per utilizzarle in proiezione dell’oculare con un telescopio astronomico. Le webcam si collegano direttamente a un PC, in modo tale che si può utilizzare un apposito software per sommare sequenze di immagini, ottenendo così un notevole miglioramento qualitativo dell’immagine finale. In questo libro, Martin Mobberley introduce l’astrofilo all’uso delle webcam e all’elaborazione digitale delle immagini, mentre fornisce suggerimenti dettagliati per la ripresa del Sole, della Luna e dei pianeti. Ogni oggetto, con le specifiche tecniche di ripresa ed elaborazione, viene trattato in un capitolo a sé. Attraverso le immagini di questo libro, l’astrofilo potrà rendersi conto di quanto si possa fare applicando una webcam al proprio telescopio!

Uno dei periodi tra i più rilevanti del passato del nostro paese è qui affrontato da alcuni tra i maggiori specialisti a livello internazionale attraverso la ricostruzione dei percorsi, delle tematiche e dei risultati conseguiti dalle principali storiografie straniere (tedesca, francese, americana, spagnola e inglese). Ne emerge un quadro assai articolato di come l'esperienza della civiltà comunale sia stata trattata e valutata nel tempo fuori dall'Italia. Queste particole luminose compongono e ricompongono figure, e su quelle figure ci facciamo domande e narriamo storie. Solo la vertigine del domandare e del narrare può dar senso a una vita che alcuni dicono intessuta di pura casualità.

Il successo del Sudoku non accenna a rallentare. Tutti i grandi quotidiani offrono giornalmente alcuni schemi da risolvere, sono nate associazioni e federazioni, vengono organizzati tornei locali, vari campionati nazionali e persino un campionato mondiale a cadenza annuale, si moltiplicano le proposte di varianti del Sudoku classico, moltissimi docenti universitari hanno avviato tesi di laurea sull’argomento, sono stati scritti svariati prodotti software su PC, su hardware dedicato e sulle principali console di giochi interattivi. Accanto alla moltitudine crescente di dilettanti che con varia frequenza si cimentano nel gioco, di solito lavorando con carta e penna e in solitario, è nata una comunità mondiale di esperti che, attraverso forum dedicati su Internet, cercano di scovare tecniche di soluzione sempre più sofisticate, oppure si accaniscono ad individuare e sviscerare i segreti logico-matematici del gioco, o più semplicemente si propongono di strutturare, organizzare e diffondere la conoscenza in materia. Questo libro si rivolge al primo gruppo di persone, ai dilettanti che vogliono continuare a giocare con carta e penna e che eventualmente vogliono diventare un po’ più esperti, e si propone di dare risposta a due quesiti principali: 1) come riuscire a risolvere in modo divertente qualsiasi schema, per quanto difficile, proposto dalle riviste specializzate, a partire da un numero limitato ma sufficiente di tecniche di base e avanzate, 2) come orientarsi nel variegato mondo degli esperti, dei forum, dei siti dedicati, dei prodotti software, senza perdere tempo inutile e potendo rapidamente trovare risposta a qualsiasi eventuale dubbio.

    Abstract: The contribution made by Mario Ridolfi to the construction of a modern Italian identity, in its regional aspect, materialised in his Umbrian designs, starting from the watershed of 1961 which marked the voluntary exile of the architect in Marmore. Through the analysis of his architectural creations, the book reconstructs the mental itinerary pursued by Ridolfi in the elaboration of the Umbrian works, casting light on the architect's interest in the material consistency of the architectural organism, studied in the most minute detail so that the perfection of the work can render it a "living thing". In Ridolfi's work, spirit and matter, art and technology are amalgamated into a single object which always tends to the absolute. Bound up with this, in a play of continual cross-reference, is the study of the specific features of the Umbrian landscape, dominated by the figure of St. Francis of Assisi, as a fruitful and intriguing comparison to map out the contours of the research

    Abstract: Uno dei più autorevoli filosofi tedeschi contemporanei ricostruisce come un archeologo il senso complessivo dell'idealismo analizzandone i testi fondatori e il contesto culturale in cui si sono formati. Ma questa ricostruzione, pur minuziosa, non ha carattere filologico. L'idealismo mostra qui la sua attualità non esaurita, e riformula la questione dell'assoluto nel tempo della modernità, ossia nel tempo che ha nel soggetto un proprio motivo centrale. Il volume presenta quattro testi fondamentali di Henrich, dei quali uno (Autocoscienza e pensiero di Dio) del tutto inedito, e due per la prima volta tradotti in italiano: L'io di Fichte e Che cos'è metafisica - che cos'è modernità. Dodici tesi contro Jürgen Habermas. Esso si arricchisce inoltre del dibattito svoltosi intorno a questi saggi, un dibattito guidato dallo stesso Henrich, che viene così a commentare, fornendo ulteriori sviluppi, i propri testi.     Abstract: Un volume edito solo in italiano, in cui il noto filosofo americano condensa il suo percorso che si misura con le grandi questioni dell'etica, della verità, del soggetto, della politica. Senza essere scettico, il suo approccio soppesa le ragioni di una scelta filosofica riconoscendo che altre scelte hanno anc'hesse buone ragioni per essere fatte valere: è ciò che egli chiama la "legge della conservazione dell'imbarazzo". Proprio per il fatto che la filosofia affronta problemi reali, e dunque complessi, tali cioè da lasciarsi attraversare secondo diverse prospettive, il dubbio resta legittimo. Contro il dubbio scettico vale solo ridiscutere e approfondire le ragioni delle scelte. Si tratta di far valere le buone ragioni (ossia buoni argomenti), nella consapevolezza però che esse rispondono a ragioni obiettive, ossia a principi che ci obbligano senza che per questo siano stati posti dalla ragione. Dare ragioni non significa insomma istituire norme, ma rispondere, sul piano etico, nella vita quotidiana, in politica, a principi che riconosciamo buoni e di cui siamo in grado di dar conto argomentando. La verità, dice Larmore, è qualcosa che appare capace di catturare al meglio il modo in cui sono fatte realmente le cose. Questo "realismo", questo convincimento che esistano ragioni obiettive, si svolge, sul piano morale e su quello della teoria della verità, in una direzione che Larmore stesso chiama platonica. In politica esso conduce a una radicalizzazione della posizione liberal nel senso della grande tradizione del liberalismo classico, come visione del mondo prima che come concezione politica. Curato da Ugo Perone, il volume prosegue la serie in collaborazione con la Scuola di Alta Formazione Filosofica, che ogni sei mesi invita a Torino un grande filosofo contemporaneo per un seminario avanzato.

Through the analysis of his architectural creations, the book reconstructs the mental itinerary pursued by Ridolfi in the elaboration of the Umbrian works, casting light on the architect's interest in the material consistency of the architectural organism, studied in the most minute detail so that the perfection of the work can render it a "living thing". In Ridolfi's work, spirit and matter, art and technology are amalgamated into a single object which always tends to the absolute. Bound up with this, in a play of continual cross-reference, is the study of the specific features of the Umbrian landscape, dominated by the figure of St. Francis of Assisi, as a fruitful and intriguing comparison to map out the contours of the research
    Abstract: Il contributo di Mario Ridolfi alla costruzione di un'identità italiana moderna, nella sua declinazione regionale, si sostanzia nelle sue architetture umbre, a partire dallo spartiacque del 1961, che segna il volontario esilio dell'architetto a Marmore. Attraverso l'analisi delle sue architetture, il libro ricostruisce l'itinerario mentale che Ridolfi ha percorso nell'elaborazione delle opere umbre, mettendo in luce l'interesse dell'architetto per la matericità dell'organismo architettonico, studiato in ogni minimo dettaglio affinché la perfezione dell'opera possa renderla 'cosa viva': nell'opera ridolfiana spirito e materia, arte e tecnologia si amalgamano in un unico oggetto, che sempre tende all'assoluto. The Società Italiana di Scienze Sensoriali has played a decisive role in activating and guiding this development. Pursuing this approach, in 2008 the Society organised the 2nd National Convention as an occasion for exchange among professionals working in the field of sensory science
    Abstract: Nel corso dell'ultimo decennio in Italia si è assistito a un crescente interesse per le scienze sensoriali. Di conseguenza è aumentato il numero di ricercatori impegnati in questo settore così come continuano a crescere le aziende che utilizzano le valutazioni sensoriali nell'innovazione e ottimizzazione di prodotto e nel controllo qualità. Nella valorizzazione delle produzioni alimentari di pregio del nostro Paese è sempre maggiore la sensibilità verso l'adozione di metodi rigorosi nella descrizione delle proprietà sensoriali dei prodotti e nelle attività di verifica della conformità a definiti standard sensoriali.     Abstract: Il testo – frutto di una ricerca svolta all'interno del Dottorato di ricerca in progettazione paesistica della Facoltà di Architettura di Firenze – elabora un'ipotesi di processo metodologico per la pianificazione del paesaggio nelle isole minori, mettendo a confronto alcuni casi studio individuati nel Mediterraneo occidentale, e riportando frequenti casi singoli che ampliano il panorama sulle specificità delle isole.     Abstract: "Saggi" brings together the results of the research activity carried out on the PhD course in English and American Studies (Department of Modern Philology, University of Florence). The contributions relate to the theatre, narrative, poetry, autobiographical writing and correspondence, and range from the Renaissance up to the present day. The heterogeneity of the material illustrates the free choice of the young academics who, in the climate of collaboration that was established, decided to address the technical and editorial aspects of the book as a team in the open access editorial workshop of the Department

    Abstract: Lo studio Incrocio di culture analizza le differenze culturali comuni e reciproche − un approccio all’inter- culturalità − di tedeschi, italiani e francesi in materia di patrimonio architettonico, storico, letterario, cinemato- grafico, teatrale e lirico e sui riferimenti o le figure della cultura popolare. L’inchiesta è stata condotta su 4.500 persone appartenenti alle tre popolazioni: si tratta di un’iniziativa inedita nel proprio ambito e per portata, che mira a sondare il fondamento comune delle culture in Europa, di una cultura europea o dell’identità culturale europea mediante la cultura. I risultati confermano la correlazione delle conoscenze e del livello di istruzione, mettono in evidenza la pregnanza degli stereotipi sui popoli e l’assenza di una vera e propria cultura comune. L’esistenza di alcuni riferimenti transnazionali fortemente condivisi mostra tuttavia che l’interculturalità, che suppone la conoscenza degli altri popoli, non è irraggiungibile. Lo studio invita pertanto a ripensare gli obiet- tivi, i metodi e gli strumenti dell’interculturalità europea

She demonstrates how both the normative literary theories of the Italian intellectual establishment and the emerging New Science limited the genre's success on its native soil. Natural philosophers, physicians, and clergymen positioned the fairy tale in opposition to science, fixing it as a negative pole in a binary system, one which came to define both a new type of scientific inquiry and the nascent literary genre. Magnanini also suggests that, by identifying their literary production with the monstrous and the feminine, Straparola and Basile contributed to the marginalization of the new genre."     Abstract: The "racial and biological regeneration" of the German people was one of the ideological foundations of the Third Reich. The ideas of ​​an organic improvement and of a racial selection of peoples originated in the utopias of eugenics and racism that were developed in the second half of the nineteenth century in Germany and Europe. Eugenics laws were already in place since the early twentieth century in the United States, and later in Switzerland and Scandinavia. However, it was only in the Nazi Germany that racism and eugenics were able to intertwine and be fully realized into a wide and articulated legislative system aimed at the "defense" of the "racial and genetic integrity" of the German people. Statistics, genetics, demographics, anthropology, and medicine contributed, with their true or alleged scientific nature, to give the discriminatory and racist Nazi ideology an aura of objective certainty. The dangerous combination of these factors was systematically and organically implemented within the proposals of the anti-Semitic, "blood and soil" ruralism. These culminated in the "zootechnical" utopia, consisting of a selective breeding of a new Nordic peasant nobility, the future ruling class of the German racial society. The combination of eugenic and racist instances did not remain confined within utopian projects, but found its dramatic fulfillment in the policies of elimination, namely euthanasia and the Shoah.

Molte delle informazioni codificate nella radiazione cosmica di fondo sono state impresse dal sovrapporsi di onde acustiche presenti nell’Universo primordiale: una "musica" del Big Bang, che i cosmologi hanno tentato per anni di ricostruire, usando tecniche analoghe a quelle che permettono di distinguere il suono di diversi strumenti musicali. Solo di recente le prime note di questa straordinaria sinfonia cosmica sono finalmente state svelate, ma l’indagine non è ancora finita. Questo libro illustra, con un linguaggio adatto anche al non specialista, le teorie, le osservazioni e le scoperte che hanno fatto entrare la cosmologia in una nuova era. Amedeo Balbi è ricercatore presso il Dipartimento di Fisica dell’Università di Roma Tor Vergata.     Abstract: In contesto scolastico quello delle difficoltà in matematica è un fenomeno importante sia per la sua diffusione sia per le conseguenze che ha a vari livelli: dal disagio personale con cui viene vissuto da molti allievi, all'atteggiamento negativo che larghi strati della popolazione costruiscono verso la nostra disciplina, fino al calo di iscrizioni ai corsi di laurea scientifici. Di fronte a queste difficoltà, che spesso si manifestano in comportamenti quali la rinuncia a provare o il rispondere a caso, l'azione didattica finalizzata al recupero è in genere un'azione locale, che nasce dall'individuazione di errori per poi intervenire sulle conoscenze ritenute necessarie per rispondere correttamente. Ma questo tipo di intervento si rivela in genere fallimentare, e l'insegnante - insieme all'allievo - matura un senso di impotenza e di frustrazione. Il fatto è che questo approccio tende ad ignorare la varietà degli scopi che allievi diversi si possono porre davanti ad uno stesso compito, scopi non necessariamente interni alla matematica: per un intervento efficace è necessario allora spostare l'attenzione dagli errori che l'allievo commette all'allievo che li commette, alla ricerca dei motivi delle sue azioni. Questo volume intende offrire agli insegnanti di matematica strumenti utili per affrontare il problema, costruendo gradatamente - anche con l'aiuto di contributi teorici provenienti da altre discipline - un repertorio di interpretazioni possibili per i comportamenti degli allievi, su cui poter progettare interventi mirati, adeguati cioè ai loro problemi e bisogni

    Abstract: In meno di due decenni l’astronomia amatoriale ha cambiato volto. Il motivo, naturalmente, è il progresso tecnologico. Telescopi economici, ma di alta qualità, montature "go-to" controllate dal computer, autoguide, camere CCD, videocamere e (come sempre) computer e Internet sono soltanto alcuni degli elementi che hanno rivoluzionato l’astronomia del XXI secolo. Non solo hanno reso l’astronomia amatoriale più "amichevole" e divertente, ma hanno anche ampliato enormemente le potenzialità dell’astrofilo. Martin Mobberley dapprima affronta le tematiche di base per poi analizzare in modo approfondito quali sono gli strumenti disponibili sul mercato. Da qui prende le mosse per passare in rassegna le rivoluzionarie possibilità che si aprono per gli astrofili, dalla ripresa di immagini, alla spettroscopia, alla fotometria, alla sorveglianza degli oggetti Near-Earth - comete e asteroidi che possono avvicinarsi pericolosamente alla Terra.     Abstract: Through the various essays that compose it, the volume gives voice to subjective experiences and perceptions of men and women involved in military conflicts between the Risorgimento period and the Great War: historical phases characterized by deep elements of continuity regarding the symbolic construction of national identity, but also by equally strong watersheds. The comparison between different contexts is valuable in investigating the relationship between gender, nation, and war. Starting from a stereotype that is still strong, though it has been challenged by recent research − associating women with the desire for peace and men at the will of competition and conquest −, the volume inquired whether a specific "gender" perception of wars emerged from the texts analyzed, and to what extent these conflicts have prodded crisis and transformation in the relations between women and men. In the writings of fighters analyzed in the book − Bourbonists and Garibaldians on the Risorgimento scene, British and Italian volunteers in the First World War − "fighting the war" assumes very different meanings in relation to the side that was chosen and to the individual personality; however, it always represents a crucial moment of confrontation with dominant models of virility. The writings of Louise Colet − a passionate supporter of the Italian cause −, the images of "angels" and "fury" emerging from the male memories of the Risorgimento, alongside writings of so many women mobilized in 1914-18 − from Vera Brittain to Italian irredentists and nationalists, to the feminist minority who remained faithful to pacifist internationalism − remind us that in the nineteenth century, as in the terrible conflict that opens the "age of extremes", the war transformed profoundly, in addition to the lives of men called cannot, in fact, ignore the historical dimension that needs to inform any study that is to be done today on these works

    Abstract: Over the last few years the landscape debate has taken a new turn, shifting from concerns of conservation and protection towards the search for methods of intervention and regulations that consent a development of the territory compatible with the mutation of collective requirements. This is based on a recognition of the intrinsically dynamic nature of the landscape, conceived both in its matter and in its essence as a social construct. This shift has been sanctioned by the European Landscape Convention, which includes among the objectives of landscape policy the creation of new landscapes "to satisfy the aspirations of the population involved". This book focuses on the investigation of the conditions of the context that make innovation more or less appropriate. This is assessed as a design approach (and hence no distinction will be made between design action and planning action) that addresses the "rules" dictated by what already exists. The social recognition of their value defines the "degree of freedom" of the invention. At times the rule is the very object of the project, that is the intervention is demanded precisely to conserve or valorise a landscape that is considered of exceptional value (as in the case of protected landscapes). In other cases it is a question of implementing projects with different objectives, while respecting the rules of the landscape context. Frequently the landscape does not feature a single, unequivocal and legible system of rules, but a stratification that may be incomplete, fragmentary or conflicting: the project may then attempt to knit these up, and this mechanism may trigger its added value. There are also cases in which the rule is too weak to support a revival, or is "banal", in short can be considered worth "sacrificing" to the introduction of a new system of values. Taken as a whole, the essays explore cases of landscape design, from planning to the art of the garden, identifying the appropriateness of the innovation in terms of an awareness of the rules and the intentional affirmation and expression of self. The articles contained in the book were composed specifically for the International Convention on "Innovation and Rules in Landscape Design" held in Florence on 22 and 23 November 2002, organised by the Research Doctorate in Landscape Design of the University of Florence
    Abstract: Da non molti anni il dibattito sui temi paesistici ha imboccato una svolta, dalle preoccupazioni conservative e vincolistiche alla ricerca di metodologie d'intervento e norme attive, che consentano lo sviluppo del territorio compatibile con il mutare delle esigenze collettive . Ciò è basato sul riconoscimento della natura intrinsecamente dinamica del paesaggio, inteso nella sua materialità ma anche nel suo essere, al tempo stesso, un costrutto sociale. La svolta è sancita dalla Convenzione Europea del Paesaggio, che ammette tra gli obiettivi delle politiche del paesaggio anche la creazione di nuovi paesaggi "per soddisfare le aspirazioni della popolazione interessata". Questo volume si concentra sull'indagine delle condizioni del contesto che rendono più o meno opportuna l'innovazione. Essa è valutata in quanto atteggiamento progettuale (non si farà quindi distinzione tra azione progettuale e azione pianificatoria) nei confronti delle "regole" date dall'esistente: il riconoscimento sociale del loro valore detta il "grado di libertà" dell'invenzione. Talvolta la regola è l'oggetto stesso del progetto, ossia l'intervento è richiesto proprio per conservare/valorizzare un paesaggio considerato di eccezionale valore (è il caso, ad esempio, dei paesaggi protetti). In altri casi, si tratta di realizzare progetti con obiettivi di natura diversa, ma rispettando le regole del contesto paesistico. È frequente che il paesaggio non presenti un solo univoco e leggibile sistema di regole, ma una stratificazione talvolta incompleta, frammentaria o conflittuale: il progetto può allora tentare una ricucitura e da questo meccanismo far scaturire il suo valore aggiunto. Esistono anche casi in cui la regola è troppo debole per sostenere una ripresa, o è "banale", insomma la si giudica "sacrificabile" di fronte all' introduzione di un nuovo sistema di valori. Nel complesso i saggi raccolti esplorano occasioni di progetto di paesaggio, dalla pianificazione all'arte dei giardini, individuando l'opportunità dell'innovazione tra la consapevolezza delle regole e l'intenzionale affermazione ed espressione di sé. Gli scritti contenuti in questo volume sono stati appositamente redatti per il Convegno Internazionale "Innovazione e Regole nella Progettazione del Paesaggio", tenutosi a Firenze nelle giornate 22-23 novembre 2002, dal Dottorato di Ricerca in Progettazione Paesistica dell'Università di Firenze

    Abstract: This study, emerging from workshop activity carried out as part of the course on ECONOMY AND ADMINISTRATION OF CO-OPERATION AND NON-PROFIT, represents an examination of the economic-financial dimension of the work of the Tuscan voluntary organisations. It is inserted within an articulated research process devoted to an analysis of the accountability of these third sector agents, in the awareness that voluntary work has always been an important factor in civil progress. More specifically, the economic and financial information made available to the provinces as a result of the obligation on the voluntary organisations to deposit the annual financial statement has been fully exploited. This compliance has thus been transformed from a mere bureaucratic procedure into an opportunity for a collective cognitive enrichment through collection at regional level, reclassification and the aggregate analysis of the economic and financial data relating to the management reports (profit and loss accounts) of the voluntary organisations for 2004-2005. This has made it possible to underscore the nature and provenance of the economic and financial resources that accrue annually to such bodies, as well as the principal productive factors "consumed" in the performance of their activities
    Abstract: Il presente studio, frutto di un'attività di laboratorio svolta all'interno dell'insegnamento di ECONOMIA E AMMINISTRAZIONE DELLA COOPERAZIONE E DEL NON PROFIT, rappresenta un esame della dimensione economico-finanziaria di esercizio delle organizzazioni di volontariato toscane. Esso si inserisce in un percorso di ricerca articolato e dedicato all'analisi dell'accountability di tali attori del terzo settore, nella consapevolezza che il volontariato rappresenta da sempre un importante fattore di progresso civile. In particolare, si è voluto far tesoro delle informazioni economico-finanziarie a disposizione delle province grazie all'obbligo di deposito del bilancio annuale da parte delle organizzazioni di volontariato. Si è proceduto a trasformare questo adempimento da semplice onere burocratico in una occasione di arricchimento conoscitivo collettivo attraverso la raccolta a livello regionale, la riclassificazione e l'analisi aggregata dei dati economico-finanziari relativi ai rendiconti gestionali (conti economici) 2004-2005 che caratterizzano il nostro volontariato. Ciò ha permesso di evidenziare la natura e la provenienza dei mezzi economico-finanziari che affluiscono annualmente a tali enti, nonché i principali fattori produttivi «consumati» nella realizzazione delle loro attività

    Abstract: Attraverso l’analisi critica e dialettica del dibattito costituzionale più recente in tema di orientamento sessuale, l’autore analizza i principi ritenuti fondamentali per la costruzione di una società democratica e aperta a stili di vita differenti. Egli dimostra come le argomentazioni legali siano pesantemente condizionate dalla pressione di tabù sessuali, di paradigmi culturali sessisti, di tradizioni radicate che assurgono al ruolo di veri e propri miti sociali. Da più parti continuano infatti a sostenersi visioni discriminatorie (socialmente costruite) soprattutto in tema di rapporti sessuali consentiti, famiglia, matrimonio, filiazione, e spesso ci è possibile grazie all'utilizzo di contestate – e pur tuttavia diffuse – prassi d’interpretazione costituzionale che, secondo logiche solo in apparenza coerenti e razionali, considerano la tradizione o la storia come parametro normativo ultimo di definizione dei limiti dei diritti fondamentali e/o dell’ammissibilità di nuovi diritti, così ostacolando l’emersione di un vero e proprio diritto fondamentale al libero orientamento sessuale. L’obiettivo della ricerca è duplice e circolare: da un lato si vuole offrire un fondamento logico, razionale e convincente capace di giustificare le politiche pubbliche e costituzionali che salvaguardano le minoranze sessuali stigmatizzate e storicamente discriminate. Dall'altro si vuole dimostrare come le valutazioni interpretative e il diritto delle società aperte al nuovo e al diverso influenzino le credenze di persone appartenenti a culture chiuse e tradizionaliste in merito agli orientamenti sessuali considerati come anormali, o immorali, o comunque devianti, affinché i loro rispettivi sistemi possano sostenere, anche emotivamente, la ragionevolezza e desiderabilità del cambiamento politico e costituzionale. Un processo duplice e circolare, dunque, che gradatamente anela all'affermazione di un paradigma normativo "sessualmente" decostruito e garantista per tutti

    Abstract: Over the last few years the landscape debate has taken a new turn, shifting from concerns of conservation and protection towards the search for methods of intervention and regulations that consent a development of the territory compatible with the mutation of collective requirements. This is based on a recognition of the intrinsically dynamic nature of the landscape, conceived both in its matter and in its essence as a social construct. This shift has been sanctioned by the European Landscape Convention, which includes among the objectives of landscape policy the creation of new landscapes "to satisfy the aspirations of the population involved". This book focuses on the investigation of the conditions of the context that make innovation more or less appropriate. This is assessed as a design approach (and hence no distinction will be made between design action and planning action) that addresses the "rules" dictated by what already exists. The social recognition of their value defines the "degree of freedom" of the invention. At times the rule is the very object of the project, that is the intervention is demanded precisely to conserve or valorise a landscape that is considered of exceptional value (as in the case of protected landscapes). In other cases it is a question of implementing projects with different objectives, while respecting the rules of the landscape context. Frequently the landscape does not feature a single, unequivocal and legible system of rules, but a stratification that may be incomplete, fragmentary or conflicting: the project may then attempt to knit these up, and this mechanism may trigger its added value. There are also cases in which the rule is too weak to support a revival, or is "banal", in short can be considered worth "sacrificing" to the introduction of a new system of values. Taken as a whole, the essays explore cases of landscape design, from planning to the art of the garden, identifying the appropriateness of the innovation in terms of an awareness of the rules and the intentional affirmation and expression of self. The articles contained in the book were composed specifically for the International Convention on "Innovation and Rules in Landscape Design" held in Florence on 22 and 23 November 2002, organised by the Research Doctorate in Landscape Design of the University of Florence

    Abstract: This study, emerging from workshop activity carried out as part of the course on ECONOMY AND ADMINISTRATION OF CO-OPERATION AND NON-PROFIT, represents an examination of the economic-financial dimension of the work of the Tuscan voluntary organisations. It is inserted within an articulated research process devoted to an analysis of the accountability of these third sector agents, in the awareness that voluntary work has always been an important factor in civil progress. More specifically, the economic and financial information made available to the provinces as a result of the obligation on the voluntary organisations to deposit the annual financial statement has been fully exploited. This compliance has thus been transformed from a mere bureaucratic procedure into an opportunity for a collective cognitive enrichment through collection at regional level, reclassification and the aggregate analysis of the economic and financial data relating to the management reports (profit and loss accounts) of the voluntary organisations for 2004-2005. This has made it possible to underscore the nature and provenance of the economic and financial resources that accrue annually to such bodies, as well as the principal productive factors "consumed" in the performance of their activities

    Abstract: Le ipotesi speciali di confisca si contraddistinguono nel sistema penale per l’allontanamento dal modello della misura di sicurezza patrimoniale ex art. 240 c.p. e per le peculiarità comuni alla loro disciplina (obbligatorietà, anche in caso di applicazione della pena su richiesta delle parti; estensione della ablazione al valore equivalente). La misura di prevenzione patrimoniale (artt. 2 ter ss. l.n. 575/1965) e la confisca ex art. 12 sexies l.n. 356/1992 in primis, ma soprattutto la disciplina penale societaria e la legislazione relativa alla responsabilità "da reato" degli enti, testimoniano della tendenziale rinuncia del legislatore alla confisca dei beni "pertinenti" al reato a favore della re-introduzione di figure lato sensu di "confisca generale", che registrano nei fatti una significativa compressione dei diritti non solo dell’interessato, ma – nonostante il tenore delle norme – anche del "terzo" individuato, a seconda dei casi, nella "persona estranea al reato", nella "persona offesa", nel "danneggiato", nel "terzo di buona fede"). Lungo tale direttrice, evidente nell’ambito delle strategie di contrasto alla c.d. criminalità economica e condivisa dalla normativa europea e sovranazionale, l’ablazione patrimoniale è divenuta sanzione a pieno titolo: talora "pena principale" (art. 19, D.lgs. n. 231/2001), più spesso "pena accessoria", addirittura anticipata alla fase delle indagini preliminari attraverso lo strumento del sequestro preventivo finalizzato alla confisca (art. 321, comma 2 c.p.p.; art. 53 D.lgs. n. 231/2001). Dalle premesse poste scaturisce l’esigenza di una rinnovata attenzione verso le guarentigie costituzionali, che in ordinamenti come quello della Repubblica Federale Tedesca sono state invocate dal "Giudice delle Leggi" (Bundesverfassungsgericht) in funzione di garanzia dei diritti fondamentali dei singoli

    Abstract: L’entità e la frequenza delle riforme penali degli ultimi due decenni hanno portato alla ribalta del dibattito penalistico il tema della persistenza della funzione incriminatrice della fattispecie penale oggetto di modifica. Se e come un soggetto, che ha commesso un fatto di reato sotto la vigenza di una fattispecie poi riformulata, possa essere punito ai sensi della norma successiva è questione che ha impegnato dottrina e giurisprudenza in un serrato confronto volto a individuare le condizioni della continua punibilità. L’autore ricostruisce il tema dell’"inerzia" della funzione incriminatrice della fattispecie percorrendo i sentieri italiani e tedeschi del dibattito. Facendo riferimento alle teorie gradualistiche del reato e alla forma tipologica della fattispecie penale, approfondisce i rapporti tra fattispecie astratta e fatto storico, rapporti che disegnano lo scenario dentro il quale egli muove il tentativo di un fondamento epistemologico del concetto di sottofattispecie penale

    Abstract: On 10 and 11 May 2006 the international conference on the theme “River, landscape and land conservation. Overcoming emergencies and grasping opportunities” was held in the main lecture hall of Florence University. The initiative was promoted and organised by the PhD course in Landscape Design – Professor Giulio G. Rizzo, Dr. Michele Ercolini – and by the Master degree course in Landscaping – Professor Guido Ferrara – of the University of Florence. The majority of the addresses presented during the two days of work, and included in this book, were characterised by the cultural and scientific input of the initiative, in other words the attempt to transform a “system of demands” (namely the requirements of land conservation) into a “system of opportunities” for the design of new landscapes
    Abstract: Nei giorni 10 e 11 maggio 2006 si è tenuto a Firenze, presso l'Aula Magna del Rettorato, il Convegno internazionale sul tema "Fiume, paesaggio, difesa del suolo. Superare le emergenze, cogliere le opportunità". L'input culturale e scientifico di tale iniziativa (promossa ed organizzata dal Dottorato di Ricerca in Progettazione Paesistica – prof. Giulio G.     Abstract: The "racial and biological regeneration" of the German people was one of the ideological foundations of the Third Reich. The ideas of ​​an organic improvement and of a racial selection of peoples originated in the utopias of eugenics and racism that were developed in the second half of the nineteenth century in Germany and Europe. Eugenics laws were already in place since the early twentieth century in the United States, and later in Switzerland and Scandinavia. However, it was only in the Nazi Germany that racism and eugenics were able to intertwine and be fully realized into a wide and articulated legislative system aimed at the "defense" of the "racial and genetic integrity" of the German people. Statistics, genetics, demographics, anthropology, and medicine contributed, with their true or alleged scientific nature, to give the discriminatory and racist Nazi ideology an aura of objective certainty. The dangerous combination of these factors was systematically and organically implemented within the proposals of the anti-Semitic, "blood and soil" ruralism. These culminated in the "zootechnical" utopia, consisting of a selective breeding of a new Nordic peasant nobility, the future ruling class of the German racial society. The combination of eugenic and racist instances did not remain confined within utopian projects, but found its dramatic fulfillment in the policies of elimination, namely euthanasia and the Shoah
