Abstract: "How much do you know about the lives of bisexual men who are married to women? Do you know any personally? Have you seen them represented in media or pop culture? Bisexual people make up a majority of the LGBT+ community, but they are still relatively hidden and misunderstood. Robert Brooks Cohen aims to address this invisibility by sharing a collection of interviews with Bi+ men who are or were married to women, helping readers find connection, understanding, and community. Their experience is often erased as "not queer enough", but these men are queer, and they are challenging societal norms in important and innovative ways. Written by the host of 'Two Bi Guys', this book intersperses Robert's bisexual journey with the diverse stories of other Bi+ men to help normalize sexual fluidity and create more awareness and compassion. Each chapter is framed around a bisexual married man's story which touches on an important theme in many people's journey, such as coming out, monogamy, intersectionality, porn, marriage, parenting, and finding community, with Robert sharing his thoughts, research, and analysis. The book shares interviews with men and a few of their wives from a wide array of cultural and regional backgrounds, religions, family structures, and more, helping bisexual men find pride, validation, and joy in their sexual identity. This book is written about and for bisexual and questioning men so they can see their experience represented. However, it is also for their partners, family, and friends - as well as students, researchers, clinicians with bisexual clients, and allies - so that they can better understand the unique challenges of this identity and provide meaningful support"--

Abstract: "Long Lives are for the Rich is the title of a silent ominous program that affects the lives of millions of people. In all developed countries disadvantaged and, especially, poor people die much earlier than the most advantaged. During these shorter lives they suffer ten to twenty years longer from disabilities or chronic disease. This does not happen accidentally: health inequalities are mainly caused by social inequalities that are reproduced over the life course. This crucial function of the life course has become painfully visible during its neoliberal reorganization since the early 1980s. Studies about aging over the life course, from birth to death, show the inhumane consequences as people get older. In spite of the enormous wealth that has been piled up in the US for a dwindling percentage of the population, there has been growing public indifference about the needs of those in jobs with low pay and high stress, but also about citizens from a broad middle class who can hardly afford high quality education or healthcare. However, this ominous program affects all: recent mortality rates show that all Americans, including the rich, are unhealthier and dying earlier than citizens of other developed countries. Moreover, the underlying social inequalities are tearing the population apart with nasty consequences for all citizens, including the rich. Although the public awareness of the consequences has been growing, neoliberal policies remain tempting for the economic and political elites of the developed world because of the enormous wealth that is flowing to the top. All this poses urgent question of social justice. Unfortunately, the predominant studies of social justice along the life course help to reproduce these inequalities by neglecting them. This book analyzes the main dynamics of social inequality over the life course and proposes a theory of social justice that sketches a way forward for a country that is willing to invest in its greatest resource: the creative potential of its population"--

Abstract: "The Darker Side of Social Media: Consumer Psychology and Mental Health takes a research-based, scientific approach to examining problematic issues and outcomes that are related with social media use by consumers. The researchers rely on psychology theory to help explain or predict problematic online behavior within the social media landscape through the lens of mental health. Aspects of mental health covered include disconnection anxiety, addiction to social media or the internet, eating disorders, and depression that may result from social media use or overuse. The book provides a framework in chapter one that maps out the proposed correlations in the context of social media. With an aim to provide solutions, the authors spotlight the key issues affecting consumer well-being and mental health due to the omnipresence of social media and overuse of such. The book dissects the unintended consequences of too much social media use, specifying key problems like disconnection anxiety, eating disorders, online fraud, cyberbullying, the dark web, addiction, depression, self-discrepancies, and serious privacy concerns (especially impacting children or young people). The book provides grapples with mental health disorders ranging from anxiety, depression, self-harm and eating disorders that can be intensified by, or correlated with, too much social media use. The authors meticulously review the various facets of the darker side of online presence and propose actionable solutions for each of the problems stated. The authors provide a conceptual model with propositions that are offered to scholars for continued research. This international exploration of social media is a must read for parents, social media users, scholars/managers of business, marketing, psychology, communication, management, and sociology. Students of marketing, advertising and public relations and those navigating new media platforms will also find this research useful. Last, policy makers and practitioners are encouraged to read these ideas and consider the proposed solutions"

Abstract: "This fourth edition of Women in Mass Communication addresses the myriad of changes in media and mass communication disciplines in relation to women over the last five decades. This volume traces the history of diversity, equity, and inclusion for women in media, enabling greater understanding of global discourses and inequities, exploring transnational feminism, offering criticism of underlying structures, and calling for meaningful changes to media systems. With particular emphasis on educational and professional approaches to media communication, the book brings together a wide variety of specific topics and connects them through an intersectional feminist lens that values diversity, equity, and inclusion while exposing global systemic misogyny. The volume features 23 authors with a variety of backgrounds and perspectives from Australia, Germany, Ghana, Kenya, Korea, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States. This fourth edition focuses on marginalization practices-race, ethnicity, LGBTQ+, social class, and in multiple societies providing insight into identity and difference in a global context. An important text for students and scholars examining gender in relation to mass communication, media studies, and journalism, as well as those exploring wider issues of diversity, equity and inclusion within these disciplines"--
