    Abstract: Gespielt wird nach einem festen Rhythmus, der durch Fußstampfen und heftiges Exhalieren erzeugt wird. Dieser Rhythmus bestimmt, wann einer der Spieler über den Mann, der gebückt in der Mitte steht, mit einem seitlichen Sprung hinwegspringen darf.
    Abstract: Men assembled for the grasshopper game are grunting and stamping a strict rhythm which determines when each man in turn jumps sideways over the back of the man in the centre. It is considered to be a mistake if a man is unprepared for the jump or gets out of rhythm. Such mistakes take place if the jumper's improvised steps in between the individual jumps are too extravagant. The centre man reprimands a player for his distracting behaviour.

    Abstract: Männer tanzen stampfend im Kreis um die Frauen und legen ihre Hände auf deren Kopf und Schultern, um das Übel auf sich selbst übergehen zu lassen. Dazu stoßen die Männer heulende Rufe aus, mit deren Hilfe sie das angenommene Übel von sich werfen (tranceartiger Zustand). Die Frauen erhöhen die emotionale Erregung durch ululierendes Singen und Händeklatschen.
    Abstract: The film, a compression of several hours, begins before everyone has arrived at the scene of dancing. Music and rhythm are still disorganized. Slowly seriousness creeps into the atmosphere and men shuffling around the circle begin to administer to the women by placing their hands on the latter's heads or shoulders, thereby taking into their bodies the evil with which the harmful God /oa has charged the women. Men in a trance become evident. Their wailing prayers are heard. Explosively retching, they expel the evil they have taken into their bodies from the women. The film continues with a highly emotionally charged atmosphere in which men are trance dancing and women, while watching over them to avert injury, stimulate them to greater efforts with their ululating songs and rhythmic clapping.

Eine nach der anderen springt rasch nach vorne, um eine Melone aufzufangen, die ihr die vorangehende Frau zuwirft, und gibt sie dann unter dem Arm hindurch an die Frau hinter ihr weiter. =e A group of singing and clapping women, arranged in a circle, are playing the melon game. Each one of them in turn runs forward and passes the melon under her arm to the woman behind. Two rhythmically different games are shown, the latte r giving the participants scope for improvising their own steps.

    Abstract: Eine Buschmannfrau sitzt unter einem Windschutz und spielt auf einer Bogenlaute (Djuma). Für die vier Saiten des Instruments benutzt sie je zwei Finger einer Hand. Neben ihr lehnt ein Mann und summt eine Melodie, mehr für sich selbst denn als Begleitung der Lautenmusik.
    Abstract: A woman in a shelter is seen strumming the four monochords of the djuma with two fingers of each hand. A man nearby sings a non-verbal song, more to himself than in accompaniment with the music.

    Abstract: Because no Bushman is satisfied with the tuning and arrangement of the lamelli of another man's dongo, much time is taken up in this task. This is done by pulling out, pushing in, rearranging the lamelli or altering their tension by bending them. The film shows this procedure and gives the achieved tone.
