Abstract:
Historische Rekonstruktion der Aufnahmen Wegners aus Bolivien, Peru und Mexiko (Yucatan). Die Aufnahmen zeigen Tänze der Sirionós und den Macheterotanz der Mojos, sie dokumentieren das Alltagsleben der Chimanen, die Feierlichkeiten zum Nationalfeiertag und das Fest zur Ehren Nuestra Senora de las Nieves in Copacabana. Es folgen Aufnahmen vom Markt in La Paz und aus Yucatan. Ergänzend zu dieser Kurzfassung liegt eine ausführliche Edition des Quellenmaterials vor, die im IWF-Archiv einsehbar ist (Film A 7062).
Abstract:
Reconstruction of Wegner's footage from Bolivia, Peru and Mexico (Yucatan). The footage shows dances of the Sirionos the Mojos performing their Machetero dance. It documents the daily life of the Chimanes, the festivities of the national holiday and the feast of Nuestra Senora de las Nieves in Copacabana. Finally there are scenes from the market of La Paz and the ruins of Yucatan. In addition to this short film there exists an edition of the whole material, which can be viewed in the IWF archive (film A 7062).
