Abstract:
Das erste und bedeutendste der alljährlichen Totengedenkfeste im Königreich Oku ist die vom Palast veranstaltete Zeremonie. Im ersten Teil des Festes, der von der Geheimgesellschaft Kwifon bestritten wird, tritt die Maskengruppe Felingang auf. Nachdem sich die Tänzer in dem nur Eingeweihten zugänglichen Palastbereich angekleidet haben und sie gesegnet worden sind, haben sie, begleitet von einem Xylophon und anderen Instrumenten, vor dem Palast ihren öffentlichen Tanzauftritt.
Abstract:
The first and most important of the annual feasts in Oku commemorating the deceased is the ceremony organized by the Royal Palace. The first part of the ceremony is held by the secret society Kwifon. Its mask group Felingang dances in public. After dressing in the restricted part of the palace and after blessings, the dancers appear in front of the spectators.
