Abstract:
In der Kleinstadt Hala (Provinz Sind) haben sich besondere regionaltypische Töpfertechniken erhalten, die der Film anhand der Produktion von porösen irdenen Trinkwassergefäßen (Matto und Dilla) zeigt. Die detaillierte Dokumentation umfaßt alle Arbeitsvorgänge von der Gewinnung des Tones bis zum Brennen der Ware.
Abstract:
The small town Hala in the Province of Sind is a place, where extraordinary traditional ceramic techniques - as elsewhere being threatened by extinction - have been preserved. This refers especially to the products of the village potters ("khumbar"). The film shows the typical regional pottery techniques of earthenware represented completely in the manufacture of the drinking water storage vessels "matto" and "dilla". The detailed documentation contains all working processes.
