Abstract:
Das große Wunschgebet ist eines der bedeutendsten Feste des tibetischen Buddhismus, das im Exil in Dharamsala, dem Residenzort des Dalai Lama, in einer vereinfachten und verkürzten Form gefeiert wird: Ausschnitte aus einer Prüfungsdisputation und der anschließenden Predigt des jüngeren Tutors des Dalai Lama.
Abstract:
The Great Petitionary Prayer is one of the principal feasts of Tibetan Buddhism. At Lhasa it was held from the 4th to the 25th day of the first (lunar) month. In exile the Tibetans celebrate it in a simplified and abbreviated form, as at Dharamsala, the place of residence of the Dalai Lama. The film presents mainly excerpts from an examination dispute and the following sermon by the Dalai Lama's younger tutor.
