Exiltibeter begehen das Neujahrsfest in vereinfachter Form: Opfergaben; Ausschmücken eines Hausaltars; Schwarzhuttanz, ausgeführt vom höchsten Geistlichen des Nyingmapa-Klosters (Opfertrank, Speiseopfer, Schießen des Pfeiles Zor).
Abstract:
The tibetan New Year's festival was celebrated in Lhasa by numerous rituals and festivities, which in exile are performed only in a considerably simplified form. The film shows the decoration of a household altar for the New Year's Day, followed by a black hat dance, called also - after the 5th alai Lama - root dance (rtsa 'chams), meaning principal dance, which is part of every religious dancing performance.
