Über einen Ast werfen Jungen eine lange Seilschlinge. In diese setzt sich der "Strauß" und beginnt im Kreis zu laufen, während ihn ein zweiter Junge zu fangen versucht. Später vertauschen sie die Rollen.
Abstract:
Under a large tree with a strong overhanging branch boys clear the ground. Far out over their clearing they suspend from the branch a swing-like loop and adjust it so that a boy sitting in it touches the ground with his feet. The "ostrich" sitting in the swing rapidly runs in the circle prescribed or permitted by the swing while another tries to catch him. The twisting strap of the swing lifts the "ostrich" so that he just barely touches the ground. His rapid gait with lifted knees thus resembles that of the ostrich.
