Abstract:
Ein Fischer aus Caponga fertigt mit Beil, Dechsel, Hobel, Säge und Bohrer das Holzkreuz für einen Grundanker für das Jangada-Balkenfloß, setzt Führungsstangen in vorgebohrte Löcher, sucht einen Felsbrocken, haut ihn mit Hammer und Axt rauh zu, legt ihn auf das Holzkreuz und klemmt ihn zwischen die oben zusammengebundenen Führungsstangen.
Abstract:
A fisherman from Caponga (Ceará) shows the manufacture of the fateixa stone anchor for his "jangada"-raft. He first carves the wooden cross and drills holes for the guiding-sticks, which he then puts in. Later he goes to the shore, where he looks for a suitable rock to be shaped into a stone anchor. If the stone fits, he sets it upon the wooden cross and fixes it with the bars, which he finally ties together with a string.
