Abstract:
Nach dem Zusammensetzen von Spitze (Eisendraht), Muffe, Verbindungsstück und Schaft (Ried) zu einem Pfeil wird der freistehende Hals der Pfeilspitze mit einer Giftmischung überzogen. Das Gift besteht aus der Haemolymphe der Larven von Diamphidia simplex (Käfer) und einem Wurzelsaft, der als Giftleim dient.
Abstract:
The making and assembly of an arrow, consisting of point, sleeve, link-shaft and reed-shaft is shown. First the tip is forged from a piece of fencing wire and shaped with a file. The reed-shaft, already cut to size, is then reinforced at both ends. A small reed is shaped into a sleeve, and reinforced with sinew. The shaft of the tip is wrapped with sinew and then glued into the sleeve. The sleeve is placed onto the link-shaft and is assembled with the reed-shaft. The shaft of the tip is then coated with a poison compound mixed in the poison mortar. It consists of haemolymph of Diamphidia simplex larvae and the juice of a tuber as glue.
