Abstract:
Der Bauer van der Geest aus Oud-Ade stellt Gouda-Bauernkäse her. Frische Milch wird zu Käsebruch verarbeitet, dann zusammengepreßt und gesalzen. Nach dem Reifen wird der Käse auf dem Markt in Leiden verkauft, wo sich Käser und Käsehändler treffen. In der Waage wird die Käsemenge offiziell gewogen. Zum Schluß erhält der Käser in der Wirtschaft sein Geld.
Abstract:
The film shows the production of Gouda farm cheese on a farm in Oud-Ade : After the fresh milk is poured into the cheese vat a series of treatments are carried out. The milk turns into cheese crumbs which are then pressed in cheese forms and salted. For the sale of the cheese, the cheese maker and the trader meet in the market place at Leiden. The cheese is officially weighed. Finally the cheese maker receives payment at the inn.
