Abstract: Herbeirufen der Ahnen; Auftritt von zwei Ahnenfiguren mit übermodellierten Schädeln hinter einem Blätterzaun, Flötenspiel, Namensgesänge, Trauerlied der Frauen.
Abstract: At the beginning of the mortuary ceremony men, women, and children stand in front of a dwelling house. The man Singembandi calls names of ancestors who will be present during the feast. Behind a screen men dance and carry ancestor figures with modelled skulls, blow long bamboo flutes and beat on a lithophone and coconut shells. In front of the screen women and children sit as spectators. Some men sing name songs. In another dwelling house mourning women chant a death song.
