Abstract:
Zwei Seher zeichnen Orakeltafeln mit je sechs Feldern in den Sand. Gestreute Erdnußkerne locken über Nacht den Schakal herbei. Aus seinen Spuren und mit Hilfe eines Krummstabes wird die Antwort abgelesen. Die Seher kehren in das Dorf zurück, um den Fragestellern die Antwort des Orakels zu bringen.
Abstract:
Two seers make offerings on the place of the jackal oracle, then mark the oracle charts on the sand with six compartments each, on to which they record the signs corresponding to the question of each person. Groundnut kernels are strewn about to entice the jackal during the night. The answer is "read" from his tracks, and the destroyed and intact signs, by means of a crook. The seers return to the village to impart the oracle's answer to those who had asked the questions.
