Abstract:
Bei Malingdam ist eines der beliebtesten Knabenspiele der Eipo aufgenommen, das Graspfeilspiel, bei dem zwei Parteien einander mit etwa bleistiftstarken, bis zu 60 cm langen Grasstengel bekämpfen. Sie schleudern diese Graspfeile mit der Hand nach dem Spielgegner. Das Auftreffen schmerzt. Die Jungen üben bei diesem Spiel kriegerisches Geschick und die kulturtypischen Formen aggressiver Selbstdarstellung. Ihr Mienenspiel verrät hohes emotionelles Engagement.
Abstract:
In Malingdam, one of the most popular boys' games, the grass dart game, of the Eipo has been taken up. In it two parties fight each other with grass stems that are about as thick as a pencil and up to 60 cm long. They throw these grass darts at their opponents. Being hit is painful. These youths practice their martial skills and the types of aggressive self-portrayal typical for their culture. Their expressions reveal a high degree of emotional commitment.
