Abstract:
Mit Hilfe der hinterlassenen Spuren stöbern Männer Landschildkröten in ihrem sommerlichen Versteck auf und bringen sie ins Dorf. Dort wird eine Schildkröte zubereitet. Der Bauchpanzer wird mit der Axt vom Rückenpanzer getrennt und mit dem Messer von Muskeln und Fleisch abgelöst, bevor die Schildkröte ausgenommen und mit Maniok gefüllt wird. Das gare Fleisch wird von einer fünfköpfigen Familie verspeist.
Abstract:
Men and boys rouse several tortoises under a rock in the savanna and carry them to the village. On the village square, where his wife has lit a fire, one of the men prepares a tortoise: He removes the plastron with an axe and a bush knife, takes out the guts and inserts ground manioc for thickening. The tortoise is placed on its back on the blaze and covered by heated stones. Bunches of leaves are placed on the stones, covered by hot ashes and earth (earth oven). - The tortoise, cooked in its carapase, is taken out of the heap of ashes, cleaned roughly and consumed by the family.
