Abstract:
Einem etwa 13jährigen Jungen werden beide Ohrläppchen mit einem spitzen Stab durchstochen. Um das Zusammenwachsen zu verhindern, werden immer dickere Stöckchen in die Löcher gesteckt. Dann setzt sich ein Mann Ohrscheiben (Ø etwa 8 cm) in seine voll ausgeweiteten Ohrläppchen ein.
Abstract:
By means of a pointed stick an about 13 year-old boy has his earlobes pierced. Thin wooden plugs are inserted into the holes in order to prevent the border of the wounds from coalescing. By degrees the plugs are replaced by thicker ones, aiming at a gradual enlargement of the earlobes. The swollen earlobes are cleaned and cooled with water. An adult inserts ear discs (approx. 8 cm diameter) in his fully widened earlobes.
