Abstract:
Das zuvor aufgebohrte Ende eines Speerschaftes wird durch Umwickeln mit Sehnen verstärkt, bevor das in kaltem Zustand aus einem Eisenstück geschmiedete Speerblatt eingesetzt wird. Die Schneide des Speerblattes wird durch Feilen hergestellt.
Abstract:
A hunter trims and shapes a stick for his spear handle. He drills a hole in the end of it to receive the shaft of the spear blade. Around it he wraps a reinforcing of sinew. Then he forges a spear blade at the end of a piece of iron, employing such simple tools as a stone anvil and chisel-like hammer. With a file he finally shapes and sharpens the blade and tapers the spear blade's shaft. This is then glued into the hole of the handle and the spear is completed.
