Abstract:
Das Verdichten der Wolldecken erfolgt im Wirbelkorb, in dem ein starker Wasserstrahl das Gewebe in ständiger Bewegung hält. Nach dem Trocknen kommen die Decken zum Aufflauschen in die Rauftrommel, dann in die Rumpeltrommel, wo sie mit warmem Wasser behandelt werden. Beide Trommeln werden mit einem unterschlächtigen Schaufelrad betrieben. Nach einem kurzen Ausspülen im Wirbelkorb werden die Decken zum Trocknen aufgehängt.
Abstract:
The film shows how woollen blankets are laid in a whirling basket to be soaked, they are later taken out and hung up to dry. In the next operation the blankets are stretched over a drum. When the drum is turned the blankets are dragged lightly over a bed of nails, and thus roughened. After being treated once more in the whirling basket, the blankets are laid in a tumbling drum. In this work phase, which can last from 14 - 24 hours, the desired compressing of the woven structure takes place. After a short rinse in the whirling basket the blankets are hung up to dry.
