Abstract:
Das erste und bedeutendste der alljährlichen Totengedenkfeste im Königreich Oku ist die vom Palast veranstaltete Zeremonie. Im letzten Teil der einwöchigen Veranstaltung treten die wichtigsten Militärgesellschaften auf. Zu ihnen gehört Samba, deren Kriegsmaske begleitet von der "Frau von Samba" erscheint. Anschließend führen Medizinmänner öffentlich das Medizinritual "Kefuh Samba" durch.
Abstract:
The first and most important of the annual feasts in Oku commemorating the deceased is the ceremony organized by the Royal Palace. During the final part of the one-week-ceremonies the influential military societies have their public appearances. Among them is Samba, whose war-mask is accompanied by the "wife of Samba". After this medicine men carry out the medicine ritual "Kefuh Samba" in front of the spectators.
