Abstract:
In der für die Filmaufnahme bestellten Aufführung spielen fünf Musiker. Gendang sarunei heißt die offizielle Zeremonialmusik der Karo-Batak. Sie besteht aus einer Sarunei (Oboe), zwei Gendang-Trommeln und einem sehr großen wie einem sehr kleinen Gong. Das erste Stück Mari-mari (Komm herbei!) wird bei altreligiösen Zeremonien zur Geisteranrufung bei Besessenheitstänzen gespielt. Patam-patam, eine schnelle Tanzbegleitung, kann bei jeder offiziellen Festlichkeit erklingen.
Abstract:
Five musicians play in the performance booked for the film take. The official ceremonial music of the Karo-Batak is called Gendang sarunei. It is composed of a Sarunei (Oboe), two Gendang drums, and a very large gong as well as a small one. The first piece "Mari-mari" (Come over here!) is played in old religious ceremonies to call up the spirits in possession dances. Patam-patam, a rapid dance accompaniment, can be heard at any official festivity.
