Abstract:
In the present-day gagaku, or Imperial Court dance-music, repertoire, only Taiheiraku has retained the complete three-part programme: jo, ha and kyu. The film shows complete Taiheiraku in which four dancers, armed with Chinese style helmets, swords and spears, represent warriors after the battle, ushering in the age of peace.
