Abstract:
Das erste und bedeutendste der alljährlichen Totengedenkfeste im Königreich Oku ist die vom Palast veranstaltete Zeremonie. Im letzten Teil der einwöchigen Veranstaltung treten die wichtigen Militärgesellschaften auf. Zu ihnen gehört Nfuh, deren Tanzauftritt von einer großen Elfenbeintrompete begleitet wird. Anschließend führen sieben Medizinmänner ein öffentliches Medizinritual durch.
Abstract:
The first and most important of the annual feasts in Oku commemorating the deceased is the ceremony organized by the Royal Palace. During the final part of the one-week-ceremonies the influential military societies have their public appearances. One of them is Nfuh. The group dances in front of the spectators accompanied by a huge ivory trumpet. Afterwards seven medicine men publicly carry out a medicine ritual.
