Abstract:
Das erste und bedeutendste der alljährlichen Totengedenkfeste im Königreich Oku ist die vom Palast veranstaltete Zeremonie. Den umfangreichsten Teil des Festes nehmen die öffentlichen Tanzauftritte der Maskengesellschaften ein. Nachdem der Chiamfa-Gesellschaft vom König ein Huhn übergeben wurde, tanzen, begleitet von gruppeneigenen Musikinstrumenten, die Masken von Chiamfa, Nkumki, Subi aus Jikijem und Nsum.
Abstract:
The first and most important of the annual feasts in Oku commemorating the deceased is the ceremony organized by the Royal Palace. The largest part of the feast consists of the dances of the mask societies. After the king has presented a chicken to the Chiamfa Society, the following societies have their appearances together with their own music groups: Chiamfa, Nkumki, Subi from Jikijem, and Nsum.
