Abstract:
Das Handbuch bietet einen ausführlichen Überblick über diskursanalytische Ansätze in der sozial- und kulturwissenschaftlichen Raumforschung und ist damit unverzichtbarer Teil der Lehre in den Bachelor- und Master-Studiengängen der Geographie. Es lässt sich ebenso als umfassendes Nachschlagewerk wie als Einführung in Diskurstheorien, in die Raumbegriffe der Diskursforschung, in Modi der diskursiven Konstitution von Gesellschaft-Raum-Verhältnissen sowie in methodisch-empirische Zugriffe der Diskursforschung verwenden.Die grundlegend aktualisierte dritte Neuauflage bietet nun auch eine ausführliche Diskussion des konzeptionellen Verhältnisses von Diskursen, Praktiken, Technik und Materialität und behandelt der Diskursforschung nahestehende Ansätze wie die Analyse sozio-technischer Assemblagen und visueller Konfigurationen.

This handbook provides a detailed overview of discourse analytical approaches to spatial research in the social sciences and cultural studies, making it indispensible for teaching bachelor and masters level geography. It can be used as a comprehensive reference book and as an introduction to discourse theories, to the spatial concepts of discourse studies, to modes of discursive constitution of spatio-social relations, and to methodological-empirical approaches to discourse studies. This comprehensively updated third edition now also offers a detailed discussion of conceptual relations between discourses, practices, technology and materiality, and deals with approaches that are closely related to discourse studies such as the analysis of socio-technological assemblages and visual configurations.
