In this book Dr. Joseph Hanlon pieces together the details of South Africa's military attacks on its neighbours, and relates them to the less spectacular, but no less effective, control the apartheid state exercises through its economic power and control of transports links.He examines in details the differences in South African policy towards its neighbours and shows how and why those states have reacted in different ways - some succumbing to pressure while others hold out. The evidence he amasses is important for the shaping of Western policy towards South Africa, including the increasingly urgent question of economic sactions.
