Abstract:
Haanglireh, der 52jährige Dorfschmied von Padua, und sein Helfer schmieden in etwa 3stündiger Arbeit ein ca. 50 cm langes Haumesser: Schmieden und Härten der Klinge, Schleifen der Schneide und Schnitzen des Griffes. Der 〈i〉parang〈/i〉, der im Alltag als Arbeitswerkzeug dient, wird mit Hilfe einer Schnur um die Taille gebunden.
Abstract:
Haanglireh, the 52-year-old village smith of Padua, and his assistant shape a hewing knife about 50 centimetres long. The work takes three hours and proceeds in the following stages: forging and tempering the blade, grinding the edge, and carving the handle. The 〈i〉parang〈/i〉, used as a tool in everyday life, is attached to a cord about the waist.
