    Abstract: In der Weihnachtszeit führt die Kreolenbevölkerung ein Hirtenspiel auf dem Kirchplatz auf. Mit bunten Bändern geschmückte Männer, teilweise als Frauen verkleidet, tanzen dabei vor der Figur des Christkindes zur Begleitung von Gitarre, Stabreibtrommel, Schraper und Gefäßflöte.
    Abstract: The film shows the dance of the shepherds in honour of Jesus' birth. The performance takes place in front of the church in Mariara (Carabobo) during Christmas time. Criollo men, adorned with colourful ribbons and partly dressed as women, dance to the sound of a guitar, a friction drum, a scraper and a globular flute.

    Abstract: Männer und Frauen ernten Mais. Zwei Männer schnitzen an Bambusflöten, schaben an Hirschschädeln und sengen sie ab. Alle steigen bergab zu einer Wassergrotte, wo sie untergefaßt einen Rundtanz tanzen, begleitet von Tura-Bambusflöten, Rasseln und Hirschschädeln.
    Abstract: After harvesting maize in a field Ayaman men and women go the maize cobs to a house in front of which they place them into a heap. Then they watch two men finnishing bamboo flutes (turas) and instrumments out of deer skulls which are blown through the occipital hole (cachos). Later they all go together to a spring taking the instruments with them. At the entrance of a small cave they begin to dance, move then to a better, even ground wehere they continue dancing and where a young woman with a crown has joined them.

    Abstract: Während einer mehrtägigen Feier tanzen Männer und Frauen untergefaßt einen Kreistanz um ein Mais- und Zuckerrohrstaudengerüst, wobei sie von einem Zeremonienmeister sowie Mayordomos mit Jägern, Gehilfen und Musikern mit Bambusflöten, Hirschschädeln und Kürbisrasseln begleitet werden.
    Abstract: At the time of the maize harvest the Ayaman are celebrating the great Tura together with the mestizo population. The feast lasts several days and takes sugar cane stalks. At the dance participate the master of the ceremony, the leaders of local groups with their hunters, assistants and musicians who are playing on their instruments (tura-bamboo-flutes, deer-skulls and rattles).

    Abstract: Es stehen sich zwei Reihen von je sieben Kämpfenden gegenüber, die sich paarweise mittels hoher, rechteckiger Schilde gegenseitig von der Stelle und zu Boden zu drücken suchen. Stürzt ein Kämpfer zu Boden, wird er von Frauen umtanzt und der Kampf wird unterbrochen.
    Abstract: The film shows part of a warrau shield-fight. On an open place two rows of men armed with high rectangular shields are facing each other with the intention to knock each other on the floor with the shields. As soon as the first man lies on the ground the others stop fighting and women come to dance around the loser. After having knocked him down again, the winner choses an other man. The fight ends when both are lying on the ground, while women are surrounding them by dancing.
