    Abstract: Ein Mann leidet unter einer schweren Infektion seines linken Zeigefingers (tiefes Panaritium). Zwei Frauen führen eine Behandlung durch, in deren Verlauf eitriges Gewebe aus der Wunde entfernt wird. Dabei verwenden sie spitze Holzstäbchen und Bastfasern, zwischen denen das infizierte Gewebe eingeklemmt wird.
    Abstract: A man is suffering from a severe infection of his left index finger (deep panaris). Two women carry out a treatment in whose course purulent tissue is removed from the wound. In the process, they use sharply pointed wooden sticks and bast fibres, between which the infected tissue is clamped.

    Abstract: In sitzender und liegender Körperhaltung gebiert eine ca. 22jährige Frau ihr erstes Kind, von ihrer Schwiegermutter betreut. Frauen führen Behandlungen zur Beschleunigung der Geburt und der Ausstoßung der Plazenta durch. Die junge Mutter reinigt das Kind und durchtrennt die Nabelschnur.
    Abstract: In a sitting posture an approximately 22-year-old woman gives birth to her first child; she is attended by her mother-in-law. Women perform treatments to accelerate the birth and the expulsion of the placenta. The young mother cleans the baby and severs the umbilical cord.

    Abstract: Der Film dokumentiert Ausschnitte von 16 1/2 Stunden des Geburtsgeschehens bei einer etwa 20-jährigen Erstgebärenden. Sie wird von ihrer Mutter und einigen anderen Frauen betreut. Das Kind wird in tiefer Hockstellung geboren, nach Austritt der Plazenta abgenabelt und dann zum ersten Mal angelegt.
    Abstract: The film documents stages in the 16 1/2 hours of the course of labour for an approximately 20-year-old primiparous woman. She is attended by her mother and several other women. The baby is born in a low squatting position. Subsequent to the emergence of the placenta, the umbilical cord is cut. Then the baby is given the breast for the first time.

    Abstract: Eine ca. 35jährige Frau, von ihrer Mutter mit einem Schweißritual behandelt, gebiert ihr viertes Kind. Sie nimmt dabei verschiedene vertikale Körperhaltungen ein. Sie hatte geplant, nur einen Jungen zu akzeptieren (Infantizid ist häufig bei den Eipo), entscheidet sich aber, das kräftige weibliche Neugeborene anzunehmen.
    Abstract: An approximately 35-year-old woman, who is treated by her mother with a sweat ritual, gives birth to her fourth child. In the process she takes on vaious vertical postures. She had planned to only accept a boy (infanticide is frequent at the Eipo), but decides to accept the strong female newborn.

    Abstract: Mutter und Vater klagen im Kreis der mittrauernden Gemeinde um ihre kleine Tochter. Die Trauergemeinde befindet sich zunächst in einer Wohnhütte, die Tote ruht auf dem Schoß der Mutter, der Vater sitzt neben ihnen. Im weiteren Verlauf wird das Kind unter dem Wehklagen der Gemeinde und Eltern begraben. Ausdrucksstarke Mimik der Trauer und Verzweiflung.
